the English crusader has nailed this, every single word ….. thank you mate for speaking out, you and i are on the same page, it’s a drum i will never tire of beating …. October is Down Syndrome awareness month …. show some love ♥️#DownSyndromeAwareness♥️
I'm going to say something and I don't care if it makes people uncomfortable.
The way some people talk online about people with disabilities is absolutely vile.
Whenever a story comes out about someone with a disability - especially when something tragic happens - I make the mistake of reading the comments.
"They shouldn't be allowed in society."
"If I found out my child would be disabled I'd abort it."
"Put them out of their misery."
"Why should we pay for them to live?"
As if they don't deserve to breathe the same air as you.
Do you have any idea how it feels to read that about someone you love?
About your son, your brother, your friend?
About people who have more love and kindness in them than you will ever have?
That lad in the photo?
He's a Middlesbrough fan.
He lives for match day.
He has mates who have his back, jokes that make me cry laughing, and he feels everything so deeply.
He DESERVES to be in society.
He has every right to be out, to be seen, to live a full, normal, happy life.
What you call "a burden" I call my pride and joy.
What you call "shouldn't be allowed" - that's a human being.
Someone's child.
Someone who loves and is loved.
If your first reaction to a disability is that the person would be better off not existing - the problem is not them.
It's you.
It's your outdated, ignorant, hateful perspective on what makes a life valuable.
A life doesn't have to look like yours to be worth living.
Behind every disability is a person reading what you wrote.
And to all the parents, siblings and friends of someone with a disability who have read those comments and felt sick to your stomach - I see you.
Your person is worthy.
They always have been.

Then stop your Govt hounding them through the courts. Now!
Spent much of today with Special Forces. Of all the people and capabilities I’ve met in the past couple of months, I wish I could show the public the full extent of who they are and what they do. It has made me (even more) proud to be British and of our capabilities as a country - despite the challenges.

It is with deep and profound sadness that West Ham United announces the passing of legendary former goalkeeper and coach, Luděk Mikloško.
Rest in peace Luděk, our beloved, inspirational goalkeeper and gentle giant of a man.

Why indeed @DawnNeesom - why is it one rule for some and no rules for others? And why are @GBNEWS the only ones on top of this?
This is the protest I was referring to @GBNews today. Incredibly intimidating, a main road into London blocked. No resulting emergency face covering legislation, no hand-wringing politicians. Why? 🤔 #Portsmouth #GBNews #facecovering

Wow 25k views in just a few days on my facebook post and many many more across my social media and inbox messages about something that is always at the back of my mind and many other parents...
“Who will look after Angelo when I'm no longer here?”
Clearly I am not the only parent worrying about this.
Our children grow up, but our worries don't suddenly disappear when they turn 18 or 25.
Angelo is 33 now and I still worry about his future. I probably always will. I know that Patrick can ask for help if he needs it and can keep an eye on his brother .
Patrick always says 'mam I can check on him but I could never do what you do every night and day.' I reply 'that as long as he checks his brother Angelo is safe ,looks happy and is well thats all I can ask of you. '
Like many parents, I keep thinking...
Who will really understand him?
Who will know what his different sounds, looks and little ways mean?
Who will understand his routines and sensory needs?
Who will notice when something isn't quite right, especially when he can't always tell them?
And most importantly, who will make sure he is safe, happy and treated with dignity and respect?
These are the things that can keep you awake at night.
I wish I had a magic wand and all the answers. I don't.
What I do know is that doing nothing isn't an option.
We shouldn't have to wait until families are exhausted or in crisis before future planning starts.
Adult social care is seriously underfunded and families are carrying so much of the responsibility.
We need to keep speaking up. To councils, MPs, social care... whoever needs to hear us.
I have been doing this for many years and I'm still banging that drum!
So after seeing the response to my last post, I'm going to share more about this.
Not preaching. Not pretending I have all the answers.
Just one parent talking to other parents, sharing what I've learned along the way and hopefully helping each other prepare for the future.
What worries you most about the future for your autistic son or daughter?
I have a feeling many of us are thinking exactly the same thing. 💜
One day at a time...

Please! Is there nobody who can make this virtue-signalling bollocks stop?
Why does he think we give a monkey’s what he thinks?
He has zero qualifications/knowledge to opine on such matters.
He’s ‘sorry’ the world is not a better place than it is. With that sort of penetrating philosophical insight an Oxbridge professorship must surely beckon, toute suite.
He’s just reading a vacuous script his wife wrote for him.
If we had a whip round couldn’t we pay for them to stay in Montecito? I’d contribute.

A man who is despised by 99.9% of West Ham fans wants to put himself on public display in front of them?
You’d think he’d at least respect the fact that none of them want him anywhere near the club. Such a wrong’un.

This is jaw-dropping
French Gendarmes admit today they have orders not to stop migrants - only talk to them - even though we pay over £1/2 billion
This was moments after they stood by while a hundred migrants walked across the beach and got onto a boat and embarked for the UK
