In the end, the image was posted by Robinhood itself, and in Cashcat’s case, there’s also a very similar image associated with the Robinhood CEO.
One is already sitting around a $180M–$200M market cap, while the other is still relatively small. From a risk/reward perspective, I think that’s a pretty interesting gamble.
Also, if the cat ends up becoming the leading meme on the chain, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a dog narrative emerge as well. It’s simple, intuitive, and easy for people to understand.

In 2016, funds influenced by Effective Altruism helped scale the distribution of insecticide-treated bed nets — one of the most cost-effective ways to prevent malaria, protecting millions of people across Africa.
Over the years, EA-backed organizations have funded deworming programs, supported pandemic preparedness, and pushed forward research on reducing animal suffering at scale. From factory farming reforms to global health interventions, EA has repeatedly shown that careful thinking and transparency can turn limited resources into extraordinary impact.
That track record is exactly why the AWF community acted the way it did.
When @VitalikButerin spoke about doing good more effectively, people listened.
When an official donation pathway connected to EA was presented, people trusted it.
And 288 ETH was sent — not blindly, but because EA had already proven, time and time again, that it knows how to turn intent into real-world outcomes.
That is what makes the current silence so difficult to understand.
Because this is not just about a transaction.
It is about continuity.
Every bed net distributed, every program funded, every life improved — all of it was built on a simple but powerful foundation: people knew where things were going.
Right now, that link is missing.
The community is not questioning the mission.
It is not denying EA’s impact.
If anything, it is holding onto it.
But impact without communication becomes invisible.
And invisible impact is impossible to verify, defend, or continue supporting.
There are people here who joined because they saw what EA had already achieved.

Another sleepless night.
The AWF community didn’t appear out of nowhere. It came together because of @VitalikButerin’s encouragement—because people believed in the idea of doing good through crypto, and chose to act.
Hundreds of people. Across countries. Real ETH. Real trust.
But now, that trust is slowly fading.
Funds were sent—significant ones.
And yet, @EffectiveAltruism has remained largely silent.
No clear breakdown.
No transparent updates.
No direct response to the community that showed up in good faith.
Then, just two days ago, another 8.9 ETH was withdrawn.
No explanation. No context. Just movement.
So the questions only grow heavier:
Where exactly did the funds go?
How are they being used?
Why is there still no clear communication?
Who is accountable for this silence?
And @VitalikButerin — as the one who inspired all of this —
is there nothing to say to the people who followed?
This isn’t anger.
It’s watching something built on trust slowly dissolve—not with noise, but with quiet doubt.
People aren’t leaving because they stopped believing in doing good.
They’re leaving because they no longer understand what they’re still holding on to.
