I said it before I’ll say it again I really hate when people unfamiliar with werewolf romance criticise werewolf romance for leaning into hormones affecting behaviour… because that’s literally core to the werewolf aspect? They are mated, they have a connection that’s deeper than words and plays into animal instinct, it’s fine to not be into that but some people are? Like idk blood transference with a vampire, or energy exchanges through intimacy - they’re all different ways to explore romance and sensuality through fantasy.
It’s fine to not be into it but reading it the worst way is irritating when part of the appeal is that on a deeper hormonal way you’re so tapped into another person and vice versa where you can be primal, understand each other and feel connected. Valko’s never assaulted MC in any selfish way, and he’s not the first to spar with MC to anyone twisting that can also stare in the mirror of their own hypocrisy lol. Valko is an Alpha, wolves play fight and MC is his mate - she would be his equal.
Hormones and scent forcing someone to obey also means they can’t help their feelings and attraction, it doesn’t mean coercion or non-consensual dominance? I truly can’t comprehend the worst leaps people go to instead of ever taking things as what they are. Especially when everyone’s content can be twisted out of context
