When I send postcards or letters from a hotel (like the Disneyland Hotel today), I always channel my inner Andy Dufresne, saying with a wry smile, “Would you add this to your outgoing mail...?”

Just understand, your upcoming democratic Congress will care about everything but you as an American. At least the Republicans had a plan in place, even if they effed it up.
The fight to protect our Haitian neighbors and pass my bill extending TPS for Haiti will gain even more momentum with a Democratic majority in Congress. I’ve stood by our Haitian community and now look forward to working with my new colleagues to get this done.

Hey @grok has there ever been a Female Native American serving as Senate Majority Leader or would Liz Warren be the first?!
I would like to formally recognize Elizabeth Warren as a replacement nominee for Senate Majority Leader. There is no Senator with a more progressive voting record—not even Bernie Sanders. She is the only member of Congress to: • Denounce AIPAC • Refuse money from special interest groups • Publicly post her tax returns every year She supports: • Universal healthcare • Universal childcare • Increasing the tax burden on billionaires • Free public college for all • Large-scale clean energy investments • Overturning Citizens United • Criminal justice reform, including ending private prisons • Strong consumer protection (she helped create the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau)

There is one contingency in which I won’t reintroduce the articles of impeachment: Hegseth resigns.

If every document, every video, every note, every post-it in the Epstein files is not released within 48 hours of inauguration day in January, then I don’t wanna hear another Democrat say a single word about it. Ever.

Just so we’re clear, the Democrats have no plan for anything regarding the problems in the country. No plan for the economy, no plan for ending the war, no plan for gas prices. Their entire MO is going to be to prosecute Trump, and anybody around him, for anything they can find or even make up. So no, things are not going to get better for you now. Things are going to get much worse.
Noem, Markwayne, Miller, Homan, Bovino, what’s up? Clear your schedule.

All of this. I think Trump screwed the GA Senate race in 2020, and he’s largely responsible for tonight. Iran is one of the biggest political blunders of my lifetime - he thought we’d be in and out in a month, like Venezuela, and it blew up in our faces. Crap candidates didn’t help - Talarico and El-Sayed shouldn’t be anywhere near DC and yet here they are. Rubio/DeSantis ‘28.
Republicans are going to have a terrible night, and the simple reason why is that Trump has put up perhaps the worst *performance* this term of any president in a century or more. Remember that he entered with an actual mandate: the House and Senate, a popular vote victory and a swing-state sweep, and 6-3 Supreme Court. Democrats were afraid enough to vote for mild but real immigration restrictionist legislation in the Laken Riley Act. Everyone wondered how far the "Vibe Shift" would go. Trump managed to turn that into essentially zero durable wins whatsoever. He personally *hates* the very idea of legislation, the notion that he would have to spend time going back and forth with Congress, learning details and making compromises. So he simply didn't do it! He didn't make a compelling case for abolishing the filibuster. He didn't try communicating clearly to the public in support of popular bills to get to 60 votes. He just decided not to do it at all. So they passed an unpopular tax cut, some funding for ICE, and a sop to the crypto industry, and that was basically it. Least productive Congress in decades, due to the tastes of one man. Trump adopted one of the worst macro policies we've ever had: high deficits, high tariffs, and attacks on central bank independence. We managed to pay higher interest rates while still having high trade deficits AND weakening the dollar. Just a total failure. On immigration, perhaps THE signature issue, Trump essentially min-maxxed effectiveness and backlash. Instead of trying to leverage the political moment for new laws and a self-deportation agenda (that is, walling off the economy to remove the benefit of irregular presence in the US), he opted for a maximally aggressive approach. The administration spent attention, funds, legal manpower on stunts like deporting random people to Salvadoran prisons with essentially no due process. ICE and Border Patrol were encouraged to be aggressive and confrontational, which helped contribute to the shooting deaths of American protestors. It turns out, that's extremely unpopular! What about the approach of going after employers? The obvious vector? Trump hated that idea! He repeatedly has said he doesn't want to target businesses (especially farms) that use large amounts of illegal labor. This is just an incomprehensible position. Instead of charging a few dozen businessmen and removing the incentive for millions of illegal workers to be here, you arrest people off the street one by one at the cost of thousands of dollars in manpower per each, while their crying wives and kids post TikToks about it. Upshot on immigration: electoral strength turned into a crippling electoral weakness in exchange for deporting maybe 6% of the illegally present population. The tariffs were a total shitshow. Embarrassing rollout, no underlying theory of action at all. No targeted focus on key industries. Our country tariffed products we can't grow. We tariffed *inputs* of our own valuable exports. The schemes and amounts changed constantly, sending the stock market reeling and presenting scenes of chaos to the world. Trump's messaging throughout has been generationally bad. While facing nearly 2:1 unpopularity, he spends his days posting AI slop, saying he'll rename New Mexico or invade allies, among other bizarre remarks. He brags about a ballroom and a pool repainting while gas hits records. At no point has he ever attempted any kind of message discipline. Then there are the deeply unpopular attacks on rule of law, his "game-recognize-game" pardons for all manner of scammers and criminals, the crypto schemes that he and his family engage in, the evilly conceived and embarrassingly executed legal attacks on Comey, Jerome Powell, and others. With his monthslong stand on NOT releasing the Epstein files, he became maybe the first president ever to stake out a 99-1 issue on the 1% side. That's not even getting into Iran, DOGE, his candidate recruitment choices, or countless other things. Simply put: Trump has managed to royally screw up virtually every single facet of his presidency. It's been undeniable, voters have noticed, and there's really no escape from it. This is what the GOP base chose in early 2024, and this is the world they're living with now. Where they handed the reins of history to a fat, vain, washed-up old man and let him drive.

I barely trust the Republicans. I certainly don’t trust any of those Dems for anything
On my way to vote for a bunch of Republicans I don't necessarily like. To stick it to a bunch of Communists I can't stand.

It's called elections and our votes removed him in 2024. Duh.
WHY IS THE USA INCAPABLE OF REMOVING AN OBVIOUSLY INSANE AND INCOMPETENT PRESIDENT?

“What terrifies me is if ISIS were to detonate a nuclear device and kill 50 million Americans. Imagine the backlash against peaceful Muslims?” - Norm MacDonald Mamdani is a terrible human being, by the way.
This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity.

Or… and hear me out… Kamala was such a bad candidate that most Dems behind the scenes knew she couldn’t win and detested the fact they had no primary.

Then release it. Leak the proof to the media. You’ll be declared a national hero by everyone in the media for doing it. When Dems take over in November, if they don’t release every single page, they should never mention Epstein again.
🇺🇸 Rep. Ted Lieu says there is “ample evidence” in the full Epstein files alleging Donald Trump raped children. “This is all on videotape.”

I would be absolutely delighted if my wife publicly went over the top cheering for me in some big thing I was doing
Taylor Swift shows off her $1 million diamond ring while yelling “that’s my husband” at Travis Kelce during NFL game.

I’ve seen a ton of comments from people complaining about people complaining about Taylor Swift… And very few comments of people actually complaining about Taylor Swift. I would dare say that most people actually don’t care at this point.
Conservatives are more mad at Taylor Swift for publicly celebrating her husband and the fact she’s a married woman than they are at Sydney Sweeney for parading around naked trying to seduce men into gambling their money away lol

This continues to further the belief that racism is an issue with more demand than supply. I watched this four times and would have never thought to zoom in to find lynching, and honestly neither would most people. Look for racism, you’ll find it teapawt.net/collinrugg/status/2102…

If I see this at any car show, this is at the top of my list of vehicles to take pictures of.
You go to a car show thinking you’ll see a few shiny Chevys, some loud Mustangs, and at least one fellow explaining carburetors to anyone trapped within earshot. But no matter what anybody says, you cannot tell me that isn’t Jackie Gleason chasing the Bandit through the parking lot. 💛😂

I cannot express to you how much Love I had for @JenCapriati in the early 90s. I wrote to her and asked her to homecoming. Apparently she never got it, because otherwise she would’ve said yes I’m sure.
Had a wonderful time being back in NYC for the Us open. Watched as much tennis as I could. Caught up with a lot of old friends. Everyone from the usta was so kind and welcoming. I was amazed by how much it’s grown.
