Today in Chicago sports might need a "30 for 30" like that "June 17, 1994" doc:
- Presidents Cup at Medinah
- Cubs & Sox can clinch playoff spots
- PCA joins 40-40 club
- Kaner set to play for Blackhawks tonight
- Sky season finale
- T-Mac leaving Marquee
- Bulls name TV analysts

New newsletter: AMERICAN SPORTS PLUTOCRACY IS BULLSHIT
A brief rant about Mark Walter, the Lakers sale, and the moral problem of US sports law turning professional-sports ownership into a kind of mystical machine for increasing billionaire wealth by billions of dollars.
American sports teams are among the most valuable assets in modern capitalism in part because we don’t treat them at all like capitalist businesses. The law raises the ceiling of team valuations by restricting competition while protecting the floor of valuations by collectivizing television revenue and limiting labor flexibility.
Then, we allow owners to use the fact of restrictive competition to ransom local governments to pay for their stadiums.
Finally, draw up the tax code to let billionaire owners minimize their checks to the IRS by amortizing team valuations.

This.
This might be the most beautiful thing I've read in my life. What a privilege to be alive in 2026.

My favorite thing @om wrote was actually an interview with Brunello Cucinelli in 2015. And to this day, I think it’s the single best thing you can read on running a business. Better than any book, better than any article.

On behalf of everyone who bleeds purple, thank you Nick Martinelli for always representing our school with such class, pride, and determination. It was an absolute pleasure watching your career - we will be cheering as loudly as we can wherever your journey takes you next. Terrific player, and all time class act.

The major AI labs all (apparently) run on Slack. When they stop, it's probably a good sign that AGI is here.
I explain why here: readtrung.com/p/the-slack-ag…
