Could be many factors, quantising or lack thereof, wow and flutter from a deck if it’s ripped, warping dat tapes, bad clock for timing on whatever daw. I got loads of old tunes that are odd tempos when measured

This. A lot. I’d love to see more DJs in small regional venues. Less venues = less opportunities = fewer people taking risks = fewer people willing to go see things = the snake bites it’s tail. Or something to that effect.

The fact some Djs are commanding life changing money for a s DJ set when underground clubs all over the world are struggling or already shut is a really really big problem for every DJ based genre. It’s fucked how much money is being sucked out underground music, it’s dying

I don’t believe that all producers and record labels are ‘excited to unleash’ music. I think sometimes they’re bricking it or hoping it’ll be over soon

One of my favourite things is to watch DJ duo's that take it in turns to mix, and watching what the one not mixing is doing. 90% of the time they're bopping awkwardly or scrolling through a play list.

Not forgetting there’s a generation of DJs coming through who’s parents grew up on it, and who want to DJ like Andy C, Hazard, AMC. It’s all self referencing. And to a degree the technology dictates how you play. Anyone can lock a mix in 8 bars with cue points and tempo.
