Looked like the spike was when Travis Head was struck on the pad? Not convinced it hit his bat? Don’t understand why they didn’t look at that more closely? First replay showed it missed the bat and hit the thigh. Need a sideways angle. #ausvsouthafrica #testcricket #travishead

Gerard correct again. Absolutely perplexing. Best big time player in the game. #willashcroft #afl
“I'm absolutely perplexed by it.”
Whateley: Why Ashcroft should have record-tying Norm Smith
READ: bit.ly/4hrhkLb | #AFL
Agree. Amazing stats. Will Ashcroft was BOG imo. Wondering when they decide the Norm Smith Votes? Is it at the end of the game or part way through the last quarter? @AFL #aflgf
Will Ashcroft's last quarter. 12 disposals, six contested possessions, four clearances, three centre square clearances. Controlled the last five minutes completely. Very unlucky not to win a third Norm Smith Medal. But after also missing All Australian honours this year (he wasn't happy at that) it will only drive him even further despite all he has achieved

Brisbane players got told by Chris Fagan as he played them Wharfie Time in their team meeting last night: “When you hear that, go and win the game.” Such an amazing initiative and fan interaction but surely we will never see it again
Well said Gerard. Ginnevan smiles & plays on completely unaffected. Are they sure it was a forceful blow from the grainy footage? I have no interest in either team in the GF but this seems unjust. Seems more about making an example of Lachie than the merits of the incident itself
Gerard was not a fan of the Tribunal's decision in the Lachie Neale case.
Will the star Lion get off on appeal?

Brisbane will appeal the tribunal’s decision to uphold a one-week ban for Lachie Neale.

Agree. Seems a trivial incident even though there was intent. Grainy footage. Ginnevan basically got up and got on with play. Not doubled up on the ground for any length of time. Didn’t seem forceful from the grainy footage. Are they just wanting to send a signal? #freelachie

I'm flying back to California on Saturday, and I'm sad to leave, but I also am excited to announce that I will continue to make content with the @AFL when I get home, and I will return to Australia for the Gather Round in April. Cheers.
Wildcard is great because we saw 2 matches where teams are of similar ability - which makes for close games. Some of the finals we’ve seen over the years are lop sided in favour of a much higher ranked team over a lower ranked team.
The AFL wildcard round did huge attendance and ratings numbers. As the league is quick to point out, the 3.8m total viewers on Friday was the biggest home and away ratings figure in any code this season. Not as big as NRL state of origin. Andrew Dillon did a pair of TV interviews on Saturday specifically to spruik wildcard weekend. It is a certainty for next season even if the wildcard winners are annihilated next weekend. Follow the money. Sorry Richo, Kingy 👇 heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/a…
Nick is the best player in the league and soon he will be under $1 odds for the Brownlow #afl #nickdaicos #brownlow #shortodds #untaggable
This should be contested. Looked like a clumsy tackle but 3 weeks is way too severe compared to many other recent tackling incidents. #fogarty
Darcy Fogarty has been handed a three-match ban for striking.
