Elon Musk claims that Ukraine allegedly violated Starlink's terms of use and used the system on combat drones. As someone who was inside the process at the Ministry of Defense, I can say with certainty that this is not true. In February of this year, whitelists were introduced. Stationary terminals could be registered by both military personnel and civilians. But for any satellite terminal to work while on the move, it had to be added to a special list and connected to the military Starshield system. Otherwise, no satellite communication terminals in Ukraine would work. In other words, using civilian Starlink for drone missions was technically impossible. All drone missions that required satellite communication could only be carried out using Starshield. We are very grateful to the United States and SpaceX for access to critically important satellite communications. Ukraine did not violate the terms of use.

Despite Iran’s efforts to disrupt energy shipments, oil exports from the Persian Gulf are roaringĀ back and have surpassed pre-conflict levels. The message is clear: Iran’s threats have failed to stop the flow of energy to global markets.

This is cool..how can this be modified to search for UAPs. Can we add a camera?
We've designed a custom stratospheric balloon platform weighing just under 10 g. anyone can build and launch one by following the docs stratolink.org

We believe voice is the most natural way to interact with intelligence, so we created Dessa, the most authentic full-duplex speech model ever built. Talking with it feels like talking with a person…full of emotion, nuance, pauses, and a natural cadence. block.xyz/dessa

Yet another disappointing drop.
if you are wondering how I know these are depictions and not actual imagery, the press copy that was given out was literally titled "TriangleSketch"

Impressive
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10. Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years. Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

What are these Norwegians doing? Isn't the point of gold self-custody? This is utterly ridiculous. šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜

Today I turn 88…I’ve seen some serious shit. The most serious of it all is love. I love my family, my friends, and my wonderful fans. The power of love remains.

Inexcusable. America can and must do better. Witkoff does not represent our interests or our views.
us special envoy steve witkoff to president putin: ā€œyou talk so much about my president, president trump, being a humanitarian. you are a humanitarian also, sir, and i salute that.ā€ truly hard to watch.

I have a few people on my list that I think will get sent black suburbans and personal security details if/when a major contact event occurs and then flown by helicopter or private jet to wherever the Pentagon needs them. Reed is on that list. He does great work.
Two years on, where does our intent analysis stand?

An interesting phenomenon with the Russians is that they don’t reciprocate favors when the US offers them.

Saddam Hussein set ablaze 1.5 BILLION BARRELS; burning at a rate of 5 milllion barrels per day for 300 days.
In 1991, during the Gulf War, Saddam Hussein’s retreating Iraqi forces set fire to more than 600 oil wells across Kuwait, triggering one of the worst environmental catastrophes in modern history. The massive infernos raged for months, consuming millions of barrels of oil and sending enormous clouds of toxic smoke into the atmosphere. Thick black clouds blocked out the sunlight, turning daytime skies dark, while polluted rainfall contaminated parts of the region. What began as an act of wartime destruction became an environmental nightmare, leaving behind widespread pollution and devastation long after the flames were finally extinguished.

Keep an eye on this.
BIG: A Russian military satellite, Kosmos 2612, has been maneuvering to within 136 meters of the U.S.-registered ICEYE-X36 radar imaging satellite, according to satellite trackers, with a closer pass of about 48 meters predicted for Monday. Dutch satellite tracker Marco Langbroek said a series of maneuvers since September 30 were designed to match the satellite’s orbit with ICEYE-X36’s. Astronomer Jonathan McDowell called it the first known case of an active satellite making an uninvited close approach to another active satellite in low Earth orbit. ICEYE, a Finnish company, has supplied radar imagery to Ukraine since 2022, though it is unclear whether this satellite serves Ukraine. There are no signs of damage so far, and Russia’s intentions remain unclear.

In May, five Russian satellites surrounded a commercial imaging satellite. And this week, one of them — Cosmos 2612 — is maneuvering to get even closer. It will make its closest pass over the next 24 hours. (h/t @AdamCohen8 for the visualization)
This is wild... Russia seems to be threatening a *commercial* satellite that provides imaging services to Ukraine: ā–ø starting about two weeks ago, Russia started maneuvering five (!) of their classified satellites to the same orbital inclination as the ICEYE satellite ā–ø these burns were big, on the order of 100 m/s, clearly using chemical propulsion given the speed of the burns — very expensive and deliberate maneuvers ā–ø as of last Friday, all five Russian satellites are now co-planar, at ~97.8° inclination, with three of ICEYE's satellites, and aligned in other orbital elements (e.g. RAAN) that make it clear they're specifically targeting this set ā–ø I am a little skeptical that Russia is specifically targeting -X36 — there are two other satellites at the same inclination/RAAN (-X37 and -X38) — but the Russian sats are now all within striking distance of -X36, which is why people are concerned about it specifically; the closest cross-track distance is an estimated 500 meters (!!), all while the satellites are orbit 550 kilometers above Earth ā–ø Russia has unleashed a cyberattack on a commercial satellite before (Viasat), and it is official Russian policy that commercially-owned infrastructure that aids in military efforts "may be legitimate target[s] for a retaliatory strike.ā€ ā–ø there's speculation that this could be a precursor to an RPO mission (meaning: physically grabbing the satellite or some other kind of non-kinetic attack like blinding/jamming) Worth tracking closely. And unfortunately more evidence that space is militarizing, fast.
