He wasn’t fit enough at that WC, you could see that his involvement improved as the games progressed and the Spanish setup was also more of control that blowouts so he had to be cautious
But it’s what it is, he got injured at the wrongest time possible and lost an easy win
Yamal just needed like 3 good games between June and July… he fumbled it, how can you be so good all tru the year but decide to be bad at that most important period? Luckily for you you have a good Spain team and coach that will always deliver trophy… this one is a big miss for the young champ… but won’t taken anything away from his ability tho… more achievements in future for him, he has chance to win #BallonDor later in his career.. back to back top 3 isn’t small feet

He came injured to that tournament.
The coach didn't even want to start him for the first two games until he saw how difficult thing were without him.

It would have been the easiest Ballon Dor win for him, and he bottled it.

People were hailing Deco 😂😂😂😂💔
I've watched Désiré Doué countless times, and the maturity in his game is incredible.
As a winger, he'll take you on, beat you, and either shoot or pick out a pass. He's direct, confident, and knows exactly what to do with the ball.
Then you look at Gordon and Adeyemi, my wingers, and sometimes it feels like they don't even know their left from their right. 😭💀

64 years old, and in better shape than men half his age. some men blame age for their physique.
