Sometimes, when I watch my favorite couples in BL series and movies portray their roles so convincingly, I am reminded of this quote from one of my favorite actresses, the late Audrey Hepburn: “Actually, you have to be a little bit in love with your leading man and vice versa. If you're going to portray love, you have to feel it. You can't do it any other way.” I actually believe this. Complex emotions can only be portrayed convincingly when you feel strongly enough to bring them to life. There is only so much acting one can do before the cracks begin to show, and to the discerning eye, it's usually quite obvious when someone is simply going through the motions rather than genuinely feeling what they're portraying. Of course, this idea of being “a little bit in love” is entirely up to the actors themselves to explore responsibly once the cameras stop rolling. Audrey Hepburn actually ended her thought with a rather practical piece of advice: “But you don't carry it beyond the set.” Fair enough! But if both are unattached, willing, and curious enough to explore the possibilities, then by all means, knock yourselves out! 😏😉 Now, the more pressing question is: Has our YuYi ever explored what it means to be “a little bit in love” with each other off-screen? And don't they ever miss those steamy kisses? Hahahahahaha! Don't mind me.
