How it all started…
This is soooo damn dope. You can tell Tomugi took inspiration directly from the first episode of Neon Garden for this card art. Insane.
Going to have to get this one graded whenever I get my hands on it. Appreciate this so much @AzukiTCG @Azuki ⛩️

correct, to an extent.
when the trading activity slows down, so does yield generation. this is true for most of these models.
one of the interesting designs with the @quotrons404 model was the ability to arbitrage between secondary market NFT sales (both hardwired and dark terminals with token backings) and the liquid token market.
this provided an added layer for generating yield (especially since i direct the majority of fees from secondary market sales, aka Royalties, and from v4 trading fees back to the NFT holders)
but that doesn’t entirely remove the scenario of when activity dwindles, so do their earnings
and that’s why we decided to bootstrap and pioneer building xStocks liquidity rails on @inkonchain and use this as an added avenue for generating distribution of tokenized equities for our NFT holders from xStocks trading fees on Ink
although not everything moves at the pace we often desire in web3, i can confidently say that we are nearing a point where our quotrons owned pools and the broader chain-wide liquidity around @xStocksFi and other majors is soon to be ready to set the stage for the next phase(s)
on top of all of this, i’ve added a layer of financial incentives around the quotrons builder ecosystem, trading, and hodling hardwired Quotron NFTs.
tl;dr

trace.
it’s been over 24 hours since decoding started, and almost 25% of the entire collection has been burned.
1,893 NFTs burned. 1,893 Ciphers turned into characters.
so what’s next? good question.
i’m seeing some interesting new wallets getting into Trace and actively buying.
one of them placed 50 offers and swept 50
overall, i think this dip is way oversold, especially considering that 25% of the collection has already been burned.
i have a feeling the next phase will involve the art evolving in some way. no idea exactly how though.
we’ve all seen Trace in color, and Vesty has hinted more than once that colors are coming.
but i’m almost sure the job is not done yet.
In two days, 1,893 of a possible 3,888 Trace characters have been decoded. Almost half.
One of the ideas behind Trace: an encoded artwork can be complete even if its content remains unrevealed.
A Cipher represents a character through encoded data. The collector chooses whether to preserve that form or decode it. Each form stands as its own artwork.
Decoding requires an irreversible change. A Base, whose visual form was originally inspired by fire, is burned. The Cipher keeps its token ID and becomes a character.
You know which artworks you’re giving up, but not which character you’ll receive.
I wanted to leave room for both curiosity and attachment. Decoding stays open permanently: you can reveal your character whenever you want, or keep its encoded form as the artwork you’ve chosen to collect.
Gm 🤍
Decoding starts today at 6pm UTC.
Also, i’ve seen a few questions about how many rare characters there are in the collection.
Out of 3,888 characters, 732 are uncommon. that number covers several rarity tiers, including the 1/1s.
Below is another batch of 1/1s.
Fine Art Always Worth Sweeping,
Me and Syndicate members swept @traceforms a couple of days ago at the bottom. Picked up 10 myself.
Been following the updates from @0xvesty, and I like how things are looking.
She announced the burn mechanic. You need 2 different NFTs, a Base and a Cipher. The Base gets burned, and the Cipher turns into a character.
The burn is what I’m looking forward to most.
The first stage already looks good, but I want to see the characters behind the code.
There’s no recipe to get a specific character either. The rarer your Cipher, the better your odds of getting a rare one. Still not guaranteed.
Also cool to see artists like Modest, Jack Butcher and many others supporting her work.
Basically two collections in one. The encoded art you hold now, and the characters you can reveal through burning.
Pretty well thought out, ngl.
Burning starts October 6. Get your Base + Cipher ready, let’s burn and see what we get
and about the characters + rarity:
there is no recipe for getting a specific character.
the screenshot below shows your chances of pulling a rare or 1/1.
so basically:
buy a Base (0.0183 floor) + add any Cipher you want to test your luck with.
on tuesday, burn the Base and your Cipher updates into a character.
that’s it.
ok, in simple terms for my favorite degens:
decoding opens on october 6.
the mechanic is a merge.
you need at least 2 NFTs: 1 Base + 1 Cipher.
Trace basically contains two collections in one:
you can keep the abstract encoded form
or decode it into the character form.
in the end, there can only be 3,888 characters.
pretty bullish if you ask me.
IT'S BURN SEASON AYO

Really like how the @traceforms decode mechanic works.
You combine a Base with a Cipher. The Base gets burned, the Cipher becomes a character, and that character is removed from its pool forever.
Less supply. Smaller pools. Changing odds.
Every decode matters 🔥
Been watching @traceforms by @0xvesty closely since mint, and I genuinely think this is one of the coolest NFT concepts I’ve seen in a while.
7,777 pieces start as either Base or Ciphers — with the Ciphers encoding the underlying character through Base64, Binary or Punched Card.
Eventually, you can decode them and reveal the character behind the artwork, with parts of the First Form rarity carrying into the next stage.
And the market seems to be paying attention.
$8 mint → ~0.02 ETH floor
100+ ETH total volume
Only ~7% listed
And just 233 Punched Cards in the entire collection.
I minted 2 and picked up another 9 on secondary shortly after, including 2 Punched Cards.
Love when the art, mechanics and collecting aspect all actually connect.
Feels like Trace is only getting started.
