.@CuseMLAX gets a top local product to stay home, landing No. 21 junior Nick Rayfield, a middie for Marcellus (N.Y.) and @Sweetlax_Lax. A bonafide two-way threat, Rayfield posted 92 points as a soph and thrived all summer, showing off a big-time shot along with his versatility.

🌶️ Spicy design take Wireframing can be super helpful when you’re starting from scratch on a new product. I like to think of it as low fidelity design that grows in fidelity over time. Typography and layout are the most important make or break foundational principles of design, so let’s focus on nailing these down while we’re all thinking of how the product will function. When you focus exclusively on functionality, content, and overall experience first with vanilla typography and a strong layout, it forces you to prioritize the experience. THEN after you’ve locked in the flow with stakeholders to 80% or so, you can really flex on visual design experiments with new typefaces, revised layouts, color, branded elements etc. Typically you’ll have a dev team waiting on figuring out what to build and this will help them get started while you progress through visual design experiments. Starting with low fidelity design also helps lead design conversations. “We’re not yet talking about colors, fonts, and style, we’re trying to figure out how this thing works.” It can be a massive waste of time to tinker with gradients and drop shadows before you know the full scope. I say all this as someone who lives and breathes visual design. There’s been plenty of times where I’ve jumped straight into visuals × experience all at once and it’s worked out fine, though the process was more chaotic. But RARELY have I regretted starting with low fidelity design and evolving from there.

Every time a kid asked Sergio Romo for an autograph in spring training he asked them to sign his hat first. He wore this to the mound tonight:

“You ain’t come this far to only come this far.” 💯 Furman senior Jalen Slawson wrote this on his sneakers heading into March Madness. Today, the Paladins upset No. 4 seed Virginia 🔥

A note about our segment & my thoughts. Please read the full thread before commenting. I understand Aaliyah Boston’s frustrations, but she’s not alone. Not every nominated athlete is invited & every year several categories aren’t aired (NHL/NFL/MLB POY among them this year). 1/

I really love the @opalelectronics packaging design. It's simple, elegant, and well-balanced. Great design principles transcend the medium of packaging, interfaces, etc. 🧵 Here are 6 design tips you can steal and implement in your own work today...
