#CPI #inflation down due to #energy, primarily. Food/#housing continues to go up. Supply chains/reopening down. August could see another month of energy declines - #gas #prices are finally under $4 in #NOVA...(not saying this will last but could help the next CPI report).

I know there is a lot of focus on large retailers' excess inventory (eg, Target, Walmart) but...the ratios are still pretty low economy-wide. Definitely expect them to rise as goods sales slow, but we also don't have a huge wave of stuff headed here from APAC. What am I missing?
