To those coming into Deadlock - Dont worry about numbers, balance, meta, any of this bullshit. Take your friend group and just lane 1v1 (or 2v2) against each other until you get a grasp of one of the most fundamental parts of the game.
Rapid resets here are great for practice

I dunno who needs to hear this but:
You do not need to fix wave before midboss. Unless a shrine is going to die, midboss is a full team activity. Period.
You do not need to split push when you have 6 up + full rejuv on a shrine push. Shrines are more important than last walker.
youd think the people who play hook characters would be good at hooking but i swear everyone who plays these characters is more interested in some other bullshit on these characters
