42 years ago today, my father, of blessed memory, had the privilege to introduce President Ronald Reagan at Temple Hillel on Long Island, where my father served as the Rabbi. If one is looking for a decisive turning point where the Republican Party became the pro-Israel party, this may be it.
One of many great lines by President Reagan that day: “If Israel ever is asked to leave the United Nations, America and Israel will walk out together.”

For most Americans, the most exciting thing about Election Day is it means the end of campaign commercials
I thought it was shocking that in short order Seyfried was ready to ditch her Dropout persona for a new take just because the Grifter's boyfriend is a jerk.

At my Virginia polling place, I mentioned that you can vote with no ID. A Democrat in line said he would be very concerned with such a rule, and asked the poll worker if it was true. She said that’s false, you need an ID. Then it was my turn to vote, and I told the guy: I don’t have an ID, will my vote immediately be counted the same as everyone else? He said yeah. Just had me write my name on this form. Birthday and social can be left blank.

NEW: Virginia state senator L. Louise Lucas cries victim, says she is just an old grandma, after the feds busted her for an alleged elaborate drug and money laundering scheme.
Lucas also whined about growing up under Jim Crow.
Lucas, who is one of the most powerful Democrats in the state, is accused of leading a large-scale RICO drug trafficking and money laundering conspiracy.
According to federal prosecutors, since 2019 Lucas has used her political influence to enact legislation and regulations that financially benefited herself.
Prosecutors say Lucas directed the enterprise to buy and sell over 100 kilograms of illegal marijuana.
"The charges listed in the indictment reflect the alleged behavior of a public servant who put her own financial interests before the people she was elected to serve," Attorney General Todd Blanche said. "Nobody is above the law."
According to the indictment, Lucas told a co-conspirator she wanted a recreational license to create "generational wealth" for her family, adding "this is my last chance."
"I am too old not to be greedy," she allegedly said.
She also allegedly told a state lawmaker that the recreational industry needed to get off the ground because "when I did it, it was obviously illegal."
Lucas appears to be claiming she is being targeted because of racism.
"I grew up under Jim Crow. I've seen what happens when people in power try to silence those who stand up to them. I spent my life fighting back, and I'm not stopping now," she said.
Shocker.
I don't want to see her go to jail, but, sheesh, a state lawmaker should have a keener understanding of how federal law trumps state law

Until victims can challenge the validity of sentences reduced at a prosecutor’s urging, injustices will recur, while important legal questions evade judicial resolution.

Perhaps most striking were Mr. Trump’s remarks on Friday night. Instead of trashing the press, part of his usual banter, he was actually kind of nice.
