🚨POET CANCELLED OVER HER VIEWS ON ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION🚨
Emma Armstrong (@weeglesgapoet) has had three venues cancel her event — in Kilmarnock, Glasgow and in Greenock.
One of venues stated that “additional security” as well as “venue and operational” requirements led to their decision to cancel.
Another said they "can't accept seated show bookings" and must prioritise "standing musical" gigs, despite a seated poetry show currently being scheduled for the same time period as Emma's event had been planned for.
The third venue has confirmed that they had received a complaint about Emma’s views on illegal immigration which led to them canceling the booking.
Not only is Emma entitled to express her lawful opposition to illegal immigration, but the majority of the country agree with her opposition, according to polling conducted by the Migration Observatory at the University of Oxford.
Emma’s show is not a political event. It was part of her ‘Wan Wumun Show’ which she is touring around Scotland featuring her poetry.
The Free Speech Union is proud to be supporting Emma as she considers her options and works to rearrange her shows.
BANNED AT THE @thebeaconarts 🚫
I’ve had a rough couple of weeks navigating what has been an absolute attack on Free Speech, and @SpeechUnion - freespeechunion.org have been invaluable at helping me to navigate the process, which has only just started.
Please leave your comments below, and share with those who don’t want to see free speech being shut down in this country.
Where does it end…..? #freespeech #theweeglesgapoet
Show Emma some love Scotland. Recently had her show cancelled for speaking the truth. Let’s get behind her x
Hope your reach picks up again, @weeglesgapoet Emma. Ours has dropped off a cliff too, alongside complaints about our wee charity’s content.
Faces & Voices of Recovery UK @FAVORUK speaks up about the lack of real services to help people find freedom from dependency. We ask uncomfortable questions, and I believe some of these complaints are malicious attempts to silence us.
This is a free speech issue too. @SpeechUnion
You don’t have to get someone banned if you can make their work practically invisible. When platforms rely on automated complaints systems, people acting vindictively can exploit them, while those genuinely trying to help are left explaining to a machine why discussing addiction, recovery and failures in public services matters.
I can’t prove what has caused either drop in reach, but getting a fair hearing seems extraordinarily difficult. A complaints button should not become a veto for people who dislike what you’re saying.
If you’re not following this guy you need to be. He’s our very own Scottish fact finding machine. Well done @MyDugAlbie keep up the good work
Their own words show the SNP failures.
Not mine.
"Scotland’s health is worsening… death rates have risen among the most deprived communities, and health inequalities have widened."
That’s the Scottish Government. June 2025.
Today’s figures: in Scotland’s most deprived areas, the death rate is 1,548 per 100,000.
In the least deprived, 800.
Almost double. Same country. Different postcode.
They knew rhe failures. They wrote them down.
And Swinney's SNP will spin their failures as a success.
Everyone in Scotland should be supporting this woman.
We should all support Anne-Marie Ward and her fight for those who are dying and in need of help, being held back by the Scottish Government.
Proof PASS (0) — paste-ready. PASS≠post.
Today’s own figures released show Scotland’s maximum residential rehab capacity was 619 beds across 30 facilities, still 31 short of the SNP’s 650-bed target.
And that’s the maximum, not beds used.
Did you know only 30% of staff able to refer people to rehab agree it is easily accessible?
And the evidence suggests demand for taxpayer-funded places already exceeds the funding.
The SNP wrote the policies. Even Neil Gray admitted he doesn’t know why 1,000 was set as a target, or if that’s the right measure.
They know. Families still locked out.

William Wilberforce and generations of abolitionists fought until Parliament abolished the British slave trade in 1807. Britain then went further and used naval power to suppress slave trafficking across the world. That is part of our history. We should know it. We should teach it. We should be proud of it. Britain paid an enormous price for abolition, the debt placed on the British people was not fully repaid until 2015. I have nothing but pride in Britain's imperial past.
Set a reminder for weekly review of Scotlands Taxi Licensing Farce.
We have completed our initial investigation and presented the findings to the MSPs who took the time to respond.
We will be going through the report and updating everyone on the outcome of our meeting with Thomas Kerr and his team.

You may have noticed our new name and profile picture???
Since starting Pink Ladies Glasgow, we have always operated independently to address what’s happening here in Glasgow. However, Scotlands problems extend to all 32 local authorities. So we wanted a name that represented those objectives.
By working with other groups at a local level we have been able to challenge council processes, carry out street patrols, petition Holyrood, campaign for genuine change, and so much more. All of this in just 4 months, from a group of mums who decided Enough was Enough. Therefore, we wanted a name that could encapsulate that focus.
We remain part of the Pink Ladies network and will continue to support any work they do in defence of women and children in the UK.
However for now our priority is clear: addressing the issues we are facing here at home.
Scotland and its children are being failed every day.
Protecting Scotland’s future has to come first.
We hope you will continue to support us in these efforts.
Thank you
Tartan Ladies 💜
They just pretend that didn’t happen and that they were not culpable for how long it was allowed to continue 🤬🤬🤬
Reparations for slavery? Where is that urgency for the girls raped by Pakistani Muslim gangs in Britain, or the women still being trafficked and exploited today? Where is their compensation, and accountability for the officials who failed them?
The dead make convenient villains. Confronting living perpetrators, and the institutions that failed their victims, requires rather more courage than another speech about Britain’s past. Oh and btw, if we’re going to put history on trial, we might acknowledge Britain’s role in suppressing the slave trade. Selective memory is a curious foundation for moral superiority.
It’s shocking and the Scottish Government have allowed this to happen.
They are still are allowing this. The local government regulations regards a “fit and proper person” are so ambiguous it’s terrifying.
This is a snapshot of the cases we have uncovered and presented in our campaign to change the process.

The reality is, neither @reformparty_uk or @RestoreBritain are going to win anything by them selves.
As a Restore member, If a Reform councilor has a chance to win a seat in next years elections, I will help them.
We are not enemies.
We already have the effing system to defeat.
This might make me unpopular but I am not here to be liked unlike some people who crave the attention,
But this restore vs reform shite is actually becoming boring now it’s like watch lefties attack each other because one wants to be a tranny and the other does not
If you support reform good on you although they are Tory 2.0 and have loads of foreigners in their ranks, if you support Restore good on you although who you voting for if early election is called?
Get a fucking grip and have proper conversations with out point scoring it’s draining and achieves fuck all, we are all meant to be on the same sid
