As Dr. King said, the time is always right to do right and that all it takes for evil to prevail is for good-natured and good-willed people to do nothing. This must be fought. There is strength in numbers. Let’s GO! #fame22 @FloridaMediaEd #floridamediaed

The way Mackin cares about their customers is evident at every level. Thank you Mackin for all you do to support school libraries and the people who make those libraries their world.

those librarians, those human beings who got out from under big blue book companies and selflessly helped @MackinLibrary become better than that. We care about what we do, and how we do it. #supportlibraries #supportkids #supporteachother

“I’m afraid too….” But @Boss_Librarian reminds us today at #SLJSummit that not standing up for books and kids is wrong. We must be truth tellers

HB 1467 was received favorably in the house and it’s on its way to the Senate floor.
While FAME supports many sections of this bill, we STRONGLY OPPOSE a list of banned books reported by district. This sets a dangerous precedent.

I am honored to serve on this committee, although I of course wish the district’s procedures had been allowed to proceed. Choice for EVERY parent and student is vital and I look forward to representing @FloridaMediaEd theledger.com/story/news/edu…

Unfortunately, the @FLSenateGOP @FLSenate sponsor of #HB1467 is incorrect. Currently, there is not a certified media specialist at every school in Florida. Hopefully, this bill will change that. @FloridaMediaEd #Freadom

This was hanging in my office when I became a school librarian in 2004. Seems like we could all still use it. #FReadom
