In 100 years, most of us—and everyone we know today—will be gone. Strangers will live in the homes we worked so hard to build. Someone else will own the possessions we spent a lifetime collecting. Our descendants may barely know our names. After all, how many of us truly know our great-grandparents' story? We may be remembered for a few years, perhaps a generation or two. But as time passes, our photographs, accomplishments, and stories may slowly fade. When we pause to consider this, we begin to question why we spend so much of our lives chasing more. How much do we sacrifice trying to have everything, only to miss the moments that give life meaning? One day, we might gladly trade those possessions for another walk we never took, another conversation we rushed through, or another chance to give the hugs and kisses we held back from our children and loved ones. Take the walk. Make the call. Hold your children a little longer. Tell the people you love what they mean to you. Our time is precious.
