Only First Class and Second Class Upper graduates should qualify to become teachers. Teachers’ starting salaries should be a minimum of ₦500,000 per month.
Teachers should be required to take professional qualification examinations every two years.
There should be an Education Bank where teachers can access very low-interest loans for car financing, home financing and other essential needs.
Teaching should be one of the most prestigious and highly respected professions in the country.
Molecular tests are fanciful and attractive but must be interpretes in the right clinical and morphologic contextbto be usefl. #WADIAP #EKOPATH2026

On December 27th, 2023, Dr. Ganiyat Popoola, a dedicated medical professional and mother of five, was kidnapped from her home at the National Eye Centre Staff Quarters in Mando, Kaduna, along with her husband and nephew. Although her husband was released after paying a ransom, Dr. Ganiyat and her nephew remain in captivity after 7 long months!
Despite our tireless efforts, including appeals to security services and exhausting all resources, Dr. Ganiyat's safety and well-being hang in the balance. We have received reports that she is alive but in poor health.
We urgently implore the government and all stakeholders to intervene and help secure Dr. Ganiyat's release. Her family, colleagues, and patients await her safe return.

We attended this landmark dialogue today organized by the Institute for Development Research and Training of Ahmadu Bello University.
The Chief of Defense Staff General Christopher Gwabin Musa gave a wonderful talk on “Assessing the Present Security Situation in Northern Nigeria.”
As part of the discussion, we brought up the issue of Dr Ganiyat Popoola, who was kidnapped 7 months ago and still remains in captivity, and pleaded with the CDS to intervene.
And we are optimistic he would.
