I've been spending a lot of time in the last month analyzing the impact of the December 2025 core update. It was the most dramatic algorithm update for small businesses (local SEO) that I think I've ever seen. I've had a lot of people reach out showing me sites and examples that look similar to the HCU in 2023 (which didn't really touch Local SEO) . Here are just a few.  I think the days of algorithm updates not having huge impacts on small businesses might be over.
