This might be the most beautiful thing I've read in my life. What a privilege to be alive in 2026.

If you're 13 right now here's what you should do:
Spend all your time reading philosophy, sci fi, poetry, and history. Go to museums and look at every damn thing in there. Watch all the classic films and maybe every single movie made in the 90s. Learn how to write prose, document your thoughts and observations as thoroughly as you can. Go outside, play sports, learn how to play an instrument. Paint. Listen to all kinds of music.
Live life as humanly as you possibly can, and bring that love and energy back to whatever it is you decide to do in the future.
When we sat down with @alexandr_wang at Meta Connect 2025, he shared his advice for young people:
“If you’re 13 right now, you should spend all your time vibe coding. This is the Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg moment. The people who grow up with these tools will have an immense advantage in the future economy.”
From his appearance on the show in September.

We've transformed our city in many ways in the last five years. This street used to be full of cars. Now there's music, laughter, food, people sitting down. Life slows down a little bit on Parliament Street.

🌳 Paris just transformed one of its most iconic squares: Place de l’Hôtel de Ville. Once a vast stone esplanade, it’s now an urban forest.
Inaugurated on June 21, 2025, this project is reshaping how the city tackles climate, space, and livability. 🌍

The new plans for College Green look great.
It'll take political and public pressure to get it done - the Greens will be backing it all the way.
We can build a better Dublin: we just need to keep pushing for it!

Think of it.
It’s Dublin in 2040. We build apartments that people can afford. There are tall and modern buildings in the Docks and a reclaimed Dublin Port. Fully residential Georgian townhouses.
We can build the Hibernian metropolis. All of this is a policy choice.
All credit to founder @KarlPurdy who has run @coffeeangel with a conscience from the off, from this effort to maintain Dublin’s heritage to contributing a wedge of profits to ecological restoration & biodiversity projects across the country. Well worth giving them your business!
There’s no doubt that Dublin’s restoration award of the year 2024 goes to @coffeeangel’s resurrection of the J. O’Grady & Co. shopfront at 1-2 Lower Mount Street just off Merrion Square, that languished for years under a heap of roller shutters, signage panels and beauty board 🧵
Shocking move from the DECC and a massive blow to Ireland’s startup ecosystem. The @NDRC_hq and @dogpatchlabs team run one of the best operations in the space, and consistantly set the bar when it comes to startup support, tangibly adding value Irelands economy year after year!

Ireland's housing system is in a state of disrepair, primarily due to ineffective Government policies.
My graphic illustrates the large number of vacant and derelict properties in Dublin City. It also shows the 4,666 entire houses or apartments currently listed for short-term letting on the Airbnb platform, with a total of 18,649 across Ireland.
Homelessness in Ireland has reached another new record high, with 14,760 people homeless and relying on emergency homeless accommodation, including 4,561 children from 2,133 families, according to the latest figures released by the Department of Housing. The Government failed to meet its social and affordable housing targets by 2,680 homes last year and significantly underestimated the number of houses needed to be built annually by 17,000. It's widely accepted that Ireland requires up to 50,000 additional houses each year; however, the government's "Housing for All" plan only aims to build an average of 33,000.
The 2022 Census shows that the country has 166,752 vacant homes and 66,135 empty holiday homes. Interestingly, nearly a third of these vacant homes (48,387) have been unoccupied long-term since 2016.
Predictably, rent has doubled over the past 13 years and house prices have surged by 55%, marking the fastest growth in any major EU economy. Currently, Vulture funds own 1 in 6 mortgages in the Irish housing market, while Cuckoo funds and the State purchase 42% of new homes. This situation has led to a record number of first-time buyers competing for the smallest supply of housing stock in over a decade.
Nationally, just over 11,000 homes are available for purchase, a stark contrast to 2012 when 60,000 homes were on the market. To add to the crisis, the income needed to buy a new home in Dublin is €127,000, which surpasses even a TD's basic salary of €108,987.
Consequently, 68% of people in their late 20s still live with their parents, a figure that is nearly 26% higher than the EU average of 42.1%.

Great to see a full house for yet another startup event hosted by @dogpatchlabs and @NDRC_hq… over 400 founders, investors and generally smart heads in the room today - goes to show the appetite we have in Ireland right now for innovation and progress.

The more we learn about the other species that share the planet with us, the more we discover they are sophisticated, intelligent and caring. It's time to value them as important members of the community of life on Earth, instead of just exploiting them.

I haven't told a story on here for awhile, so let me tell you about the time my old boss, Jim, almost killed us all in a fire.
It's not a funny story, it's long, doesn't really go anywhere, and at some point it just stops.
So anyway, our shop was housed in a very old building.

A snippet of the great turnout from all generations for the Dun Laoghaire #livingstreets parade today (as designated videographer I had the best view 😉)… Here’s hoping the councillors take note of the community support for this important initiative & vote in favour on the 11th! – at Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown, Ireland
