Nudging iOS materials with some distance-dependent diffusion. Built with SwiftUI, Metal shaders, and math.

we have a winner for the most absurd AI startup ever
this Peter Thiel backed company uses AI robots to stab fish in the brain so they taste better and last up to 3x longer
it's called Shinkei and it modernizes a centuries-old Japanese technique
dozens of Michelin-star restaurants are already lining up to buy the fish
here's how it works:
> the problem is when a fish gets caught, it usually just suffocates on the boat
> that stress floods the meat with hormones and lactic acid, which hurts the flavor and texture
> the old Japanese fix for this was spiking the fish through the brain right after the catch, which stops all that
> but doing it by hand is impractical for most American fishing crews
> so Shinkei built a fridge-sized robot that sits right on the boat's deck
> the crew feeds in a fish and AI identifies the exact species, so it knows exactly where the brain and gills are
> the robot then drives the spike through the brain and cuts near the gills in about 7 seconds
> the fish goes into an ice slurry so the blood drains out
> so the fish doesn't sit there stressing out, and that tasty flavor and texture is preserved
example number 5,392,417 of how AI can be applied to literally anything

SwiftUI + Metal shaders on iOS.
I want to use this to let two Claudes talk to each other.
i love the glowing apple logo on the new macbook pro
so i made it dance to your music and blink when claude needs you

A programmatic komorebi effect on iOS made with SwiftUI + Metal. ☀️🌿
The shader samples 48 directions across the sun’s 0.53° disk. At a shadow’s edge, some rays make it past the leaves and some don’t. The farther from the surface the leaves are, the softer their shadows become.

Every spoken sentence carries depth.
Particle now exposes 4 dimensions for each line:
- sentiment 😁😔
- certainty 👍🤷
- specificity 🎯 👐
- temporality 🔮📈
These dimensions let your agents perform fast and complex queries about predictions and feelings.

Today we’re introducing Speaker Statement Characteristics.
Podcasts are full of predictions, criticism, and bold calls, but a keyword search can’t tell a confident forecast from a passing remark.
Now the lines Particle returns carry four labels for how they’re said: sentiment, certainty, specificity, and time. Stack them as filters to find exactly the statements you need, on any topic, across 165,000+ actively transcribed podcasts.
Available now via API and MCP.

Apple's Core AI models repo is now accepting third-party contributions 🥳
If you have developed some cool ports, this is the best place to share your recipes with the community. Looking at you @JackdeS11 @mattt @kevinqz 😂

We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
LLM was given weights explicitly as text in prompt and used code/forward passes (per authors' logs) to ablate Qwen looping direction, a known thinking-mode issue per model card. Primarily fixed repetition in that mode, not general 'natively' improving weights/math.
