Happy 39th birthday to Frank Ocean, born on this day in 1987. From ‘Channel Orange’ to ‘Blonde,’ his extraordinary songwriting and fearless creativity have reshaped modern R&B, with songs that feel deeply personal and timeless.

Ken Russell's "The Devils" is so good
Oliver Reed plays a promiscuous priest who's accused of witchcraft by a nun that's sexually obsessed with him
the whole thing is nuts in the best way

Probably my favourite version. It's much less bombastic than Olivier's or Branagh's.

Ingmar Bergman spent much of his life searching for silence. He distrusted distraction, guarded his privacy with extraordinary determination, and believed that genuine artistic work demanded distance from the noise of the world.

Gene Hackman turned down the title role in The RoyalTenenbaums — a role that had been, according to Wes Anderson, “written for him against his wishes" — several times before giving in to Anderson's pestering and agreeing to do the film.
Hackman was leery of the fact that Anderson had written the part specifically with him in mind, because he said he felt Anderson must then want something specific from his performance, which he saw as limiting — i.e. that he wouldn't be free to create his own interpretation of Royal.
He also admitted that Royal's relationship with his children in the film made him look back at when his own three children were young, and question whether he himself had been insensitive and made poor decisions as a father. According to Hackman, he discussed the matter with his kids and his agent, and finally decided to accept the role.
As it turned out, it would be an iconic role for him, and landed him the Golden Globe award as Best Actor.

«Ma nièce qui était en classe de 4ème, a eu une explication de texte à faire sur cette chanson.J'ai rédigé le devoir dans son langage et obtenu la note de 8 sur 20! Le professeur a inscrit, à l'encre rouge, dans la marge: “N'a pas saisi la pensée de l'auteur”.»- Hervé Cristiani💗

After Hours is one of the exact reasons I love Martin Scorsese so much. Scorsese perfectly captures one endless, spontaneous night in ‘80s NYC that could never be recreated today. The ‘80s was such an interesting decade for Scorsese - he tried a lot of new things & embraced bold stories. I love this chapter of Scorsese’s career & I love this film.
