"Iran wants to make a deal"
Israel elections have given Netanyahu extra incentives to kick the wars into higher gear.
Exit polls confirm a deadlock with neither bloc near 61 seats, so Netanyahu lacks a clear path to a coalition. Reports show he pushed for Iran strikes before the vote but faced military and US pushback. The incentive for escalation to force unity exists, yet actual decisions still hinge on the IDF, Trump, and real threat levels. Plausible risk, not a certainty.

BREAKING: The UK has just issued security alerts for Israel, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, Egypt, Iraq, UAE, Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Syria, Yemen and Palestine, warning all British nationals of sudden incoming escalation causing severe flight cancellations, airspace closures and travel disruptions.
"The context in the Middle East remains deeply unpredictable and the risk of sudden escalation is high," the new warning says.
It now covers British nationals planning to transit the region rather than only those already there, and drops all qualifiers on airspace closures and travel disruptions, which are no longer described as potential.
US embassies across the region ordered departures last week.
The Iran-Mecca Alliance talks may have not gone as plannes because the Houthis are hitting more Saudi targets.

Very important meeting today between representatives of the Mecca Pact (KSA, Pakistan, and Turkey) and Iran in Tehran.
But an invitation for Tehran to join the pact was not on the agenda.
Rather, an emergency session in which the three are requesting Iran's help to end the conflict with Ansarollah, which is threatening to destabilize Saudi Arabia.
From the Iranian perspective, KSA has committed the same mistake as Trump: Starting a war that it cannot control or end.
Tehran is willing to help, a source in Iran tells me, but Ansarullah's condition for KSA to lift the air blockade on Yemen before any fighting ends is unchanging.

Still, this meeting reflects something even more important, and something we and other restrainers have pointed out for years: As the US pulls back militarily, contrary to Washington's conventional wisdom, regional states are showing greater agency and taking responsibility for the region's security themselves.
This does not mean all problems will be resolved or that conflict and chaos will be avoided, but it will be their conflicts, their chaos, and their responsibility, not the US's.

A deal with Iran before elections would have been the best. But Iran did not bow down.
So now they have 2 options:
1. Escalate with gusto
2. Be vague and wait
Out of these options, being vague is the worst. So they have to escalate.
WARNING: USA is now ready for a major escalation in the Middle East. Many signs point to an imminent attack as soon as this weekend. Israeli elections are on 27th October and Trump wants Netanyahu to be re-elected.
