Sheffield Wednesday Football Club confirms that Henrik Pedersen has left the club with immediate effect.
Henrik led the first team through an exceptional period in the club's history, providing stability and leadership during a time of significant uncertainty and change.
The club would like to place on record its sincere thanks to Henrik for his contribution and wishes him every success in the future.
Sporting Director Simon Wilson said: “First and foremost, I want to thank Henrik for his professionalism, commitment and contribution during an exceptionally challenging period for Sheffield Wednesday.
“We knew the start of this season would be difficult due to the scale of change across the club, but our expectation was always that we would develop as the season progressed, establishing a recognisable style of play and greater consistency in our performances.
“Although we have accumulated points, we haven’t seen enough progress in those areas. We believe making a change now gives us the best opportunity to establish those foundations and build towards the second half of the season and beyond.
“We remain ambitious about what we can achieve this campaign, and our focus remains on building a Sheffield Wednesday team with a clear identity, capable of delivering sustained improvement and long-term success.”
Matt Hamshaw will take interim charge of the first team while the club undertakes the process of appointing its next Head Coach.
The club will provide further updates when appropriate.

Burnley Football Club has dismissed Head Coach Nicky Hayen with immediate effect.
The Board has taken the decision following a disappointing start to the Championship season.
We’ve already had at least a couple of ‘turning point’ moments already this season that came to nothing so it remains to be seen whether or not it proves to be the case this time or not. Plenty of effort and commitment today but they know they need to back it up. #dcfcfans
Blimey. At half time the one thing I thought was don’t do anything stupid. So comfortable. They were always going to improve. Probably fortunate to hold on. Jacob excellent. Offered nothing going forward though all 2nd half not just at 10 men. Probably a point gained. #dcfcfans
Looks like they're going to try and ride it out until the international break. They need to put a run together as one result isn't going to be enough. Our record with injuries suggests just as we get some players back we'll most likely lose another few once again. #dcfcfans
Good to see Jacob back but the other end of the pitch still needs a lot of work despite only Pat still being out. JE still having the backing is not a surprise, although I'd be surprised if anything else was being briefed even if they were thinking of making a change. #dcfcfans

There will be sympathy for the injuries, and rightly so, just as there should’ve been under Warne. The difference there is that the level of resources and investment, even considering the level of injuries, is like chalk and cheese. It’s being used to muddy the waters. #dcfcfans
So much talk about our defensive record, goals conceded and injuries to those players, but that’s just ignoring a glaringly obvious problem at the other end of the pitch. We only have 1 forward/attacking player missing, granted a big one, which begs a lot of questions. #dcfcfans
There’s been quite an amount of gaslighting in pre and post match interviews all season if we’re honest. Recruitment, training, tactics and the players themselves are all culpable along with the coaches. It hasn’t felt right at the club despite what we keep being told. #dcfcfans
It probably will be a performance and result that’ll mean we kick the can down the road for another week, whether that’s the best thing to do or not is definitely up for debate. #dcfcfans
If Mowatt is injured then it’s taken a potentially difficult decision out of Eustace’s hand re Travis, although he was always likely to come back in. Aside from that it’s as expected if we’re honest. #dcfcfans
Speaking of weather, probably going to be one of those afternoons where it depends what stand you’re in, at least until the sun goes in. This time of year does produce some lovely days. Not that I’m trying to take my mind off the actual football or anything. #dcfcfans
Last Saturday 3pm home match until the end of November and who knows where we’ll be by then. Feels a big one, although we’ve said that too many times already this season. At least it’s a beautiful day. #dcfcfans
Game was over at half time. 2nd half was always going to be a bit of a non-event. Feel they could've put their foot down again if needed. Another injury too. Feel for the fans who travelled and spent so much money. There is no positive gloss to put on that at all. #dcfcfans
If this was a cricket match I'd be hoping QPR declare at half time. #dcfcfans
Saturday was an improvement, albeit from a few low bar. Based on leading up until the 88th minute it's a game we should've won, but based on chances and the game itself a draw was probably fair. They need to back it up over a run of games to show serious improvement. #dcfcfans
