Walked past several of these cast iron signs today in Worcester. Thanks to @derektp and gpo-markers.derektp.co.uk/ho⦠I now know they're GPO marker posts for old (pre 1930ish) buried phone and telegraph lines. I must go back out to find some more, and add to his map.
