Happy 5th Anniversary, Monkes! 🐒💛
Five years ago, the one and only Solana Monkey Business was born on @solana.
None of us knew then that these pixelated Monkes would bring so many people together, or that the community around them would eventually become @MonkeDAO.
Since then, we’ve shared the highs, weathered the lows, laughed through more chaos than we could ever fit into one post, and watched Solana grow as we grew alongside it.
Five years later, we’re still here - connected by friendships that began behind a PFP, shared memories, and a global community that slowly became home.
Did you really think we’d let this anniversary pass quietly?

So today, we’re looking back at how it all began, how far we’ve come, and the journey that made @MonkeDAO what it is today.
This is for those who were there from Day 1, those who joined us along the way, and everyone who helped shape the story we now share.

🚨 Please Read and Repost! Let's Help This Man and His Family 🚨
I met @WowDarkPope on Twitter a few years ago, and recently learned that he lives in the same city as I do. He's always been supportive of the ecosystem, it's founders, and community. I know quite a few of you know him. Aaron has never asked me for anything. Just recently I got to know his story, and honestly it devastated me. 😢
Aaron his wife and two daughters have been homeless for the last 3-5 years on and off. They've slept in a car which Aaron also used to drive for Uber 10 hours a day. That car recently broke down, and he is in a desperate situation. He has Parkinson's disease, heart failure and also suffers from seizures which now prevent him from driving for Uber. HIs wife recently had an aneurysm and a stroke, plus suffers from a chronic blood clot. His two daughters are autistic and one has dwarfism. This story sounds made up I know, but it's true.
They are currently sleeping outside in parking lots, and spending their days in the library for shelter. Last week Aaron's wife was hospitalized twice. In Aaron's own words: "I'm not special, I'm responsible for my own mess and I know we all struggle. I just don't know how much more fight I have left." This story is truly heartbreaking.
Aaron and I have talked in length about how to turn this around for him and his family. I've been helping out when I can, monetarily. I would like to get him a laptop and shelter for a while so he can learn a trade and start creating income again for his family. He's a super kind, smart man, and through all of this has kept an amazing attitude. I've been struggling on how to help him.
I'm dedicating a wallet to him that I will make public. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated, and I will be updating everyone on his progress. Every cent will be accounted for. I will be donating more money to the cause myself and hope that you can find it in your heart to do the same. We take a lot of things for granted in life, yet never realize the struggle our brothers and sisters are going through.
