Respectfully, I disagree. > With AI, knowing when to say โ€œNOโ€ is just as important as knowing what to ask it to build. AI is great at giving you working solutions. But a working solution and a well-designed solution are two different things. Letโ€™s take a simple example. You integrate Razorpay as your payment gateway today. Tomorrow, for whatever reason, you decide to move to another provider. If your payment logic is tightly coupled with Razorpay across your codebase, youโ€™re now looking at a massive PR touching multiple parts of your system. However, if you had designed a payment abstraction from Day 1, switching providers would be much easier. Could AI have done this? Absolutely. But someone needed to think about it, ask for it, or recognise the problem during code review. And that thinking often comes from experience, from getting your hands dirty, making mistakes, and learning why certain design decisions matter. > With all due respect, building side projects and building production systems that are used and improved every single day on every layer are two very different things. The real challenge isnโ€™t always getting something to work. Itโ€™s making sure it continues to work as the product grows, requirements change, and more people start contributing to the same codebase. Continuous improvement is the main point that differentiates. > AI has made shipping the first version incredibly easy. Maintaining and extending it is where engineering decisions start to matter. In the early days, you move fast. Extremely fast. And AI has made that even faster. But as you keep iterating, adding features, handling edge cases, and scaling things, you start realising how important a solid foundation is. How do you have a solid foundation without looking at massive PRโ€™s in future? Experience. > Writing the initial code is often the easiest part. Making sure the next 100 features can be built on top of it without breaking everything is the difficult part. And thatโ€™s where experience, system design, and knowing when to reject an AI-generated approach become extremely valuable. Iโ€™m not saying AI cannot write good code. It absolutely can. Iโ€™m saying that getting code that works and knowing whether that code is the right foundation for your product are two different skills. If you are okay with massive PRโ€™s, high token burn, constantly changing architecture with every feature, yes LLD is dead!
Low-Level Design is dead. AI has made coding obsolete. No one cares about the programming language we use. What matters is engineering: making a system reliable, cheap, and scalable. In the past 3 months, I have worked on dozens of side projects and built custom frameworks for myself. I hadn't written code professionally since 2019, and yet I was blazing through projects in 2026. My system design fundamentals helped. My business fundamentals also helped. Coding didn't. I haven't written a single line myself. In 2026, code is all generated. If you are a software engineer, you must transition to AI now. All the best, my brethren.

October has been a brutal reminder of how much software runs on trust. โ†’ Railway: customer secrets exposed โ†’ LiteLLM: malicious PyPI + Docker releases โ†’ Zeabur: infrastructure breached โ†’ OpenCode: AI API keys exposed โ†’ OVHcloud CLI: official binaries backdoored โ†’ Rank Math PRO: malware in the official plugin โ†’ TeamUpdraft: customer data compromised โ†’ ConnectWise: cloud backup identities compromised โ†’ Tensorlake + SubQuery: compromised packages โ†’ GhostAction: malicious GitHub workflows โ†’ PHP: critical RCE vulnerabilities โ†’ Node.js: security vulnerabilities patched โ†’ eMudhra: compromised CA keys, with fallout for Tailscale Different incidents. One uncomfortable question: You reviewed your code. Who reviewed everything it trusts?

1/ Most people โ€œprepare for interviewsโ€. If youโ€™re aiming for top spots like @Rippling , @databricks , @stripe , @nvidia , @Razorpay , @JioHotstar etc, you may need to rebuild yourself for that bar. Hereโ€™s the PLAYBOOK for 0โ€“5 YOE folks in India. Save this. ๐Ÿ”–

I just explored the new agent-native platform, Instacloud, and I'm genuinely impressed. It's not about 'no DevOps,' but rather 'DevOps with Agents.' Being able to spin up complex, scalable infra directly via chat is a game changer for rapid development. Check it out: โฌ‡๏ธ

Just because Anthropic replaced Git with its own version control system does not mean you should too :) They are merging 30K PRs a day. At that scale, Git became a bottleneck, so reinventing version control makes sense. For the rest of us, "git push" is probably still good enough. Fix the actual bottlenecks before picking up something fancy. Do not cargo-cult solutions to problems you do not have. Issued in public interest :)

I never thought Planly would be this good until I finished my first sprint! Tasks I had been procrastinating on and planning to do over 30 days... finished in just 7 days and with revision notes and quizzes too. Thank you @striver_79 and @takeUforward_!

Googleโ€™s Argon might change video marketing more than video generation did. It can understand long videos and scored 91.7% on LVBench. Hours of podcasts, webinars and customer calls can now become searchable data: hooks, objections, insights. Video is becoming queryable.
Today weโ€™re introducing Gemini 4 Argon. It delivers frontier performance in complex workflows across real-world software engineering, knowledge work, and cybersecurity defense with an industry-leading 1M token output limit.

Sunday afternoon thoughts. You may be on the right road but if you are traveling in the opposite lane, that is a disaster. All the pressure you are putting on yourself is all wasted. Have to get not just the right road but also the lane right.
