We tried for years at Electric to make expressive partial replication that scaled. We've done it in 2 months inside Neon. Precisely because we have access to and control over the Postgres internals within Lakebase.
Built by the Electric team (who also did pglite, i.e. Postgres on WASM), Neon Realtime is an incremental query engine to make it dramatically easier to build apps that sync data in realtime.
It leverages the Lakebase architecture's separation of storage and compute to run on a separate compute instance. This avoids overwhelming the primary write Postgres instance and pushes the write operations incrementally to all the subscribers.
Check it out. You can now build complex realtime sync apps in just a few lines of code. This is a great example of how hardcore database technologies can make the app developers' lives much simpler.

👋 Say hello to @TinyJoin, a tiny relational database for browser apps.
Built in Rust, and hosted as WASM on a worker thread, it's designed for rich local-first apps - and to challenge a few of the web's dated architectural assumptions.
`npm create tinyjoin@latest` to give it a test drive. And tinyjoin.org for more info.

Coding agents now handle the manual coding.
This means software engineering is shifting upstream - from writing code to orchestrating systems, defining intent, and making product decisions.
On the latest episode of The Merge, @ElectricSQL co-founder @thruflo explains why we’re all becoming product managers now… and why managing state for multi-agent systems is the next big infrastructure challenge.
We also cover:
• Why declarative sync is replacing traditional fetch patterns
• How to build reliable multi-agent workflows
• The surprising rise of Elixir for agent systems

Electric Agents 0.6 is out!
0.6 rounds out what we launched in May:
• Long-lived entities with StreamDB state
• Spawn, fork, send, wake, signal, schedule
• Local and remote agent runners
• Desktop + mobile apps built on core APIs
• PG sync triggers, MCP servers, webhook sources
The ecosystem is converging on our thesis: the agent is the log. Electric Agents paints the picture for what is built on top.

Finally! After years of searching for the best way to build the fastest mac markdown editor, I found it:
React Native.
30 MB app, opens a 10 MB file in 20 ms, while most other apps freeze or crash. And no webviews.
What do you want in a Markdown editor besides being fast AF?

Introducing Electric Agents!
Agents are not compute. Agents are data. Multi-agent is a sync problem. Electric Agents is the first agent platform built on sync.
Use it to build scalable, collaborative, long-lived multi-agent systems: 🧵👇

We've shipped the infrastructure for building scalable, collaborative multi-agent systems.
It's managed agents without the platform lock-in. Scale to millions, scale to zero. On your own terms.

Super excited for this.
We went from 545MB and 7s load times to 44MB and 600ms for 25K tasks ⚡️
I'll walk through how we built a viewport-aware rendering engine that scales from 100 to 100K tasks without exploding memory.
Hybrid IDB + SQLite/OPFS, observable queries, lazy hydration. No third-party sync libraries.
2️⃣ Riken Shah @_RikenShah - Founding engineer at Tasks (4.8+ rating, 700K+ users), who built the entire sync engine from scratch, will discuss "The Memory Problem Nobody Talks About in Local-First".
