A lot of the people who criticize the government don’t do it from a place of superior moral conviction.
They’re either sheep who follow the crowd blindly or wolves in sheep clothes who pander to populist ideologies for their own selfish interests.
As soon as they get power or their preferred candidate does, they will defend everything they once claimed to be against.
Bloody hypocrites.

VIDEO NEWS: Taiwo Oyedele: Investors Have Written Off Nigeria's Opposition as 'Unserious' on Fuel Subsidy
Any agenda to reverse the reforms of the Tinubu administration will signal the departure of capital. When capital leaves, FX will struggle and the naira will crash; even the fuel they want to subsidize they will beg for N1,400 per litre.

LKY perfectly sums up Nigeria’s dilemma where citizen’s wants and desires are sometimes incoherent and contradictory because they don’t understand anything, this is why LKY himself is not a fan of
Democracy and that’s why he succeeded as a leader
He frowns on populism, says “when leaders are influenced only by the popularity of issues of the moment and they govern by it, they leave the country with no coherent policy— a perfect description of the so called leaders we have today trying to wrestle power by all means and foolish citizens cheering them on

This is what GRV tweeted about Yorubas in 2021!
The campaign for 2023 elections started in 2021/2022 btw.
GRV never hid his disdain for Yorubas!
GRV is not Yoruba! He has never claimed his Yoruba side!
He is ibo and Ipob!
Nigeria’s digital health plan could make your medical history follow you instead of staying trapped in one hospital
The Federal Government is developing a National Digital Health Architecture designed to connect Nigeria’s fragmented health-information systems around the principle of “One Patient, One Health Record.” The framework has been endorsed nationally and is intended to allow different hospitals and digital platforms to exchange health information securely.
The real-life benefit could be enormous.
Today, someone treated at one hospital may arrive at another facility and effectively start again: another registration, another medical history, sometimes repeat tests because previous records are unavailable.
If properly implemented, doctors could potentially access relevant information such as previous diagnoses, medications, laboratory results and referrals instead of relying entirely on what a sick patient remembers.
That could mean faster emergency treatment, fewer unnecessary repeat tests and better continuity of care.
Government itself acknowledges that many electronic medical-record systems currently used by Nigerian hospitals are fragmented and unable to communicate with one another.
But connecting health records introduces another responsibility: protecting extremely sensitive personal information. Strong cybersecurity, patient consent and clear rules governing who can access records will therefore matter just as much as the technology.
The real breakthrough will not be putting hospitals on computers. It will be creating a health system where Nigerians stop carrying their medical history from hospital to hospital in envelopes, old cards and memory.

I don’t think Jev will survive.
@nvidia and @meta will release open-source Jev competitors within the next 30 days.
@OpenAI will add a Jev-like endpoint to their model list in the next 60 days.
And the rest of us will fine-tune custom classifiers that crush Jev and are 10x faster.
In two years we’ll look back at this flash-in-the-pan and say
“remember Jev?”

Here's a 45-second TL;DR on Jev.
I find the core idea beautifully simple, but the video made it really hard to understand.
Hope you find it helpful.
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution

At Pantech Dynamics, we believe Africa must build the infrastructure to own its digital future.

Aside that it’s really difficult to police or check (because the incentives is just too much, people will do anything to smuggle it). There are more other data-driven reasons why subsidy had to go.
1- Data shows that the bulk of subsidy money did not go to the poor masses who actually need it. The World Bank’s Nigeria Public Finance Review found that the poorest 40% of Nigerians accounted for only about 3% of subsidized petrol consumption, while the top 40% accounted for roughly 20%. Its also just common sense, between an average man who only need fuel to power his generator or small generator or old Camry car, and a rich man who travels with 3 exotic (V6 engine) car convoy, who benefits more?
2- Also when you look at poverty distribution it just makes sense. Nigeria’s poverty rate stood at 63%. What most people don’t know is that 51%+ (more than half) of this number are children below the age of 18, and 65%+ of this number lives in rural north. By how much do you think multidimensionally poor under-18 children or people who trek mostly and use hoes and cutlass to farm will benefit from subsidized fuel?
3- Fuel wasn’t just cheap because of fuel subsidy, it was cheap because of subsidized dollars too. But available data shows that most of the subsidized dollars were used to import wigs, exotic wines, cars, food etc. Things that the poor and average Nigerian can’t really afford or that hurts local production.
4- Lastly, the previous subsidy arrangement would eventually kill our economy. Our population was exploding, the subsidy bill kept getting bigger every year. Yet the country is losing revenue in record numbers, businesses had to leave and foreign investors shut their door on us as it became harder. Nigeria was officially declared bankrupt in 2014. Just before the subsidy was removed we were spending up to 95% of our yearly revenue to service previously owed subsidy debt. Businesses like GSK had to leave when the government could no longer provide them the dollars they needed to import raw materials. Airlines were threathing to close their doors on us. It was a big mess.
We got here because of laxity of the previous governments. Including Buhari who had the golden opportunity to remove it with less pain.
Also I wouldn’t say Tinubu is smart to remove subsidy, I would say he had no choice, and if he had delayed a bit longer it would have been a disaster.
