Have you hosted a dinner party after taking a trip somewhere? Maybe you've cooked Georgian food for friends or brought home truffles from Italy. I'd love to hear about it!

For a story, I'm looking to speak to folks who host dinner parties after traveling. Is this you? A friend you know? I'd love to hear. Thanks! #journorequest

Received an email from an old camp counselor who I loaned a book to 20 years ago. She's reading it with her daughter and wanted to know if I would like the book back when they are done.

Food writers, for a class I teach, I'd love to hear about the best writing prompt you've ever been given. @hooleil was it you who once talked about asking folx to write about iceberg lettuce?

Anyone else in NYC feeling utterly drained from the past few days of smoke? Barely keeping my eyes open over here.

Headed to the Balkans for two months this summer. If you have any recommendations, I'd love to hear them! (Happy to swap for recs in NYC, Istanbul, TLV, Rome or Philly.)

Writers: when you get a PR pitch for something that's culturally inaccurate, do you email back to say so?

NYC Folx, how many people do you know with COVID right now? I'm at 4 — all from different households.

Does anyone have a standout recipe for menemen? I have been craving the one from Çay Tarlası like there's no tomorrow. @edentravels perhaps you do?

Do you have a favorite spot for vegetarian dishes in Manhattan's Chinatown? Would love to know. Taking my kosher-keeping 9-year-old nephew out for dinner. The place doesn't need to be kosher, but vegetarian or with a lot of strictly veg options, would be great.

I have an overabundance of celery, which I don't typically love. Please help! What are your favorite celery recipes?

Yup, I just worked 9.5 hours on a national holiday. This about sums up my 2022. Here's hoping 2023 is a bit more chill.

This fact from scholar Gil Marks will haunt me for years to come: The original yellow stars Jews were forced to wear in 1215 were died with saffron.

Folx who have kids: Is it common to send your siblings Amazon gift lists of what to buy your kids for the holidays? Like, "Here's a list of what to get your niblings... in case you need any ideas." Received an email like this and think it's super rude but maybe this is common.

For the record, this is Hanukkah not Christmas, so a far less significant holiday in the scheme of our particular community. And I didn't ask for a list, it was just sent to me unprompted.
