First half thoughts for Bayern Munich vs. SC Freiburg
Bayern Munich are missing Musiala, Diaz, Neuer, Kimmich, Pavlovic and Kim... Brown and Laimer playing OOP too.
It was always going to be a difficult evening and the weather isn't helping. Even still, I thought we played well enough.
Upamecano made the block and then he proceeded to sprint 70 yards before slotting home the opener off a brilliant pass by Michael Olise. The pass was perfect and Upamecano's finish was surprisingly equally as good. Upamecano as a Kane back-up?
So incredibly happy for Serge Gnabry on his goal. That was a great pass by Nathaniel Brown and an even better finish by Gnabry. This should silence some of the fans criticizing him.
Karl was again, disappointing. Unsure when to pass and drifted for long stretches of the half. I do think he was better than he has shown recently though so that's positive. But Uli Hoeneß wss right... he needs a sitdown
sit down.
Our finishing could use some work. Olise and Brown had two really good looks but straight down the middle isn't going to trouble the keeper. Anywhere else, it's a goal.
All in all, it was an good half. Good enough to have a deserved two goal lead and that's really the crux of this match. Just has to be good enough for the result...
45 more to go! Let's hope we get a few more in the second half
Fun fact, this is the ONLY time all season that Harry Kane went three games without a goal or an assist.
He scored in 43 of the 58 matches he played for Bayern Munich and England.
Of the 43 matches he scored in, Harry Kane scored either the first or the winning goal in in 23 of those matches.
You also forgot to mention that Bayern Munich played with 10 men for the entire second half of the PSG match.
29 hours until Harry Kane wins both the Ballon d'Or and the Gerd Müller Trophy.
History will be made as Harry Kane becomes the first player to win both in the same season.
It's a cryptic message!
L = 12
O = 15
N = 14
D = 4
O = 15
N = 14
Total = 74
Kane’s number:
H = 8
K = 11
8 + 11 = 19
19 + 9 (Kane’s Jersey Number) = 28
Harry Kane was born in 1993. 1+9+9+3 = 22 and 22 x 2 + 2 =46
74 − 46 = 28
Harry Kane has won the Ballon d'Or!
See how easy this is?

Loses to Kane in the UCL quarter-finals and the third-place World Cup game, ends the season trophyless, is outscored by Kane, and has a petition created by his own club’s fans calling for him to be sold.
If Mbappe has won it then the Ballon d’Or has just become the most meaningless award in football
Someone is going to make a lot of money pumping up Mbappe just to sell. Wouldn't be surprised to see a sharp decline tomorrow or Monday morning
Friendly reminder that Kylian Mbappe ranked 6,043 out of 6,044 players in the Top 20 Leagues for defensive actions.
Every single goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and every striker (except one) contributed more.
... and he still had less goals than Harry Kane despite playing on only half the field.
Harry Kane had the second most goals in a season, ever.
What makes his Ballon d'Or obvious is that he's not just limited to goals and anyone who actually watches him play understands that.
Three more days!
Harry Kane, the 2025/2026 Ballon d'or Winner.
Message from Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern's last Ballon d'Or winner, ahead of Monday's ceremony:
"On Monday, the football world will turn its attention to London. For the first time, the Ballon d’Or will be awarded there, in Harry Kane’s hometown of all places. He grew up in London, and it was there that his extraordinary career began. I was fortunate enough to win the Ballon d’Or twice myself, so I can perhaps imagine how much it would mean to Harry to receive the award in the very place where it all began for him…
If I am asked to explain why Harry Kane deserves the Ballon d’Or, the sporting facts naturally come first: 73 goals in 65 competitive appearances for FC Bayern and the England national team. For the second time in three seasons, Harry won the European Golden Shoe as the continent’s top goalscorer. With Bayern, he won the domestic double of the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal, while with England he reached third place at the World Cup - their best finish in sixty (!) years.
Absolutely extraordinary numbers. But they are only part of the story.
Harry Kane is a completely different footballer today from the one I remember from his time at Tottenham. Back then, you mainly found him in the box - today, he has transformed into a quarterback. How often do we see him in midfield, taking control of the game and picking out Michael Olise or Luis Díaz with a precise long pass? And then, moments later, he is throwing himself into a duel inside his own penalty area. Harry consistently puts his extraordinary abilities at the service of the team.
But what truly makes Harry Kane special to me lies beyond all the statistics.
The way football is perceived by the public has changed. Top players are no longer simply athletes; they are global personalities, advertising figures and “brands.” The media, social networks and, not least, the public itself are driving this development forward. Attention has become a currency of its own. And sometimes you get the impression that the way a player presents himself has become almost as important as his performance on the pitch.
Harry Kane is the antithesis of that. His performances and popularity have long made him a “global brand.” But he has no need to constantly portray himself as one. He does not need grand gestures to demonstrate greatness. He is polite, down-to-earth, free of airs and graces, and treats people as equals. The old saying, “You have to be eleven friends,” has lost none of its meaning with him.
Everyone I ask in my family or circle of friends loves Harry Kane. And it is not just because of his goals.
Despite all his success, he has retained a wonderful and refreshing sense of normality. He is hardworking, works for the team, knows where he came from and has his heart in the right place. People like him have become rare. Where do we still find them - in sport, in politics, in society?
Harry Kane shows that you can be one of the best players in the world without constantly putting yourself at the centre of attention. That you can be ambitious while still being a team player. And that true greatness does not consist of elevating yourself above others.
I have won the Ballon d’Or twice myself, and I know the significance this award carries. But I also know that there can be different opinions when it comes to a vote like this. That is part of football, and it has to be respected.
My personal decision, however, is clear. It has nothing to do with Harry Kane’s age, but with his performances and his personality. To me, the two go hand in hand.
In my eyes, Harry Kane is the best player of the past season. But above all, he is something that goes beyond a single season: a true role model.
And perhaps, in the end, that is the greatest accolade a footballer can receive."

"Everyone seems to have Kylian Mbappe as the favorite to win it"
Brother lives under a rock.
With the Ballon d’Or ceremony happening this Monday, everyone seems to have Kylian Mbappé as the favourite to win it.
Mbappé and Haaland both recorded 58 goal contributions last season. Haaland won 2 trophies, while Mbappé was trophyless.
Haaland scored 7 goals at the World Cup with a weak Norway, while Mbappé scored 8 with France.
So, looking at the bigger picture, how is Mbappé considered the favourite while Haaland isn’t even part of the conversation?
Harry Kane has recorded a goal or assist in 13 out of the 15 matches he has played in so far for Bayern Munich and England.
He's recorded 2 or more G/A in 10 of the 15 matches.
Picking up right where he left off last season and Monday night will be his crowning moment.
Full time thoughts for Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal
There is zero doubt that Harry Kane has been the best player since the start of the 2025/2026 season. Another goal and an assist.
Massive credit to Vincent Kompany. I wasn't sure about the lineup when it was posted but once again, he shows why Bayern Munich took the gamble with him. Missing key players and still outplayed Arsenal even if the result doesn't show it.
Pavlovic and Bischof both played well I thought. They miss that creativity but they both defended well. Bischof particularly is ready for the next step.
This was another monster performance by Dayot Upamecano too. He's the best CB in the world in my opinion.
My biggest criticism is keeping both Stanisic in for the entire match. Stanisic had been poor all match both offensively and defensively. I don't understand it... especially with Nathaniel Brown on the bench.
I was disappointed with Gnabry and Karl (again). They are currently playing like shadows of their form from last season and Saibari hasn't quite integrated as well as I would have liked so far.
One thing is clear... our squad is thin and the board must act in the winter window. We are missing that veteran journeyman who can play multiple positions at an above average level (Perisic, Chupo, etc).
A draw is not a good result but it could have been worse. Need to win out the remaining matches.
First half thoughts for Bayern Munich vs. Arsenal
Difficult without Kimmich and Olise who are Bayern's two most creative players who also dictate tempo. Even without them, I thought Bayern Munich held their own, especially without Luis Diaz either.
Davies pocketed Saka! All jokes aside, hopefully nothing serious for Saka. Immediately went to ground and looked painful though.
Thought Havertz was a little lucky not to get a red. On initial review, looked like a high foul on Stanisic. Then again, Fermin Lopez kicked William Pacho in the face yesterday and it wasn't even a foul...
Kane took a goal kick and unlocked the entire Arsenal defense. Serge Gnabry MUST do better there. We have to be clinical in our chances. Kane also hit a exquisite 40 yard pass to Saibari. Harry Kane has the best passing range in the world in my opinion.
Stanisic's sleeve kept Eze onside 🤣... Really should be better by Stanisic though who is looking directly across the line. Great finish by Eze though.
I was a little perplexed seeing Luis Diaz out. Kompany had mentioned that he was struggling against Leipzig towards end of match. I would imagine we'll see Luis Diaz at some point because Stanisic just isn't it.
Harry Kane with another assist and has now equaled his entire tally he had last season. CAM version of Harry Kane is going to be so so good. Ballon d'Or soon 🤯. That finish by Alphonso Davies was incredibly composed and the technique was perfect. I really like Davies on the Wing... if we manage Luis Diaz minutes, Davies is an option too.
Konsa is lucky to not get a red. Both feet off the ground in a tackle that was incredibly late...
Felt Gnabry was trying too hard to score. Quite a few times the pass was the better option.
For missing both Kimmich and Olise, I would argue that Bayern Munich were the better side in that half honestly.

It's going to be a difficult night for Bayern Munich who will be missing their two most creative players (Kimmich and Olise) who had over 65 big chances created alone last season.
But the squad is more than capable of creating chances without them. The question is; who is going to step up in their absence? For me, this is a perfect oppertunity for Tom Bischof and Ismael Saibari.
On Bayern's night, they can be unplayable but Arsenal are a very good squad (insufferable fans though) who defend as a team. Arsenal will also be missing some key players too so whomever is able to fill those gaps the best will likely win.
🚨BREAKING: Lamine Yamal is currently predicted to LOSE the Ballon d'Or despite winning La Liga and the World Cup because Harry Kane had a better season.

There seems to be confusion with betting sites like Kalshi and Polymarket which have Harry Kane as the overwhelming favorite for the Ballon d'Or. Here's how it works:
Each possible outcome has Yes and No shares priced between $0.00 and $1.00.
The price is the market’s implied probability. A Yes share at 72.5¢ means the market currently assigns roughly a 72.5% chance that outcome happens.
Winning shares can be redeemed for $1.00 each after resolution.
Losing shares are worth $0.
You can buy or sell shares anytime before resolution to lock in profits or cut losses. Prices move with supply and demand as news and trading activity change.
Here is an example of a bet:
You buy 100 Yes shares on Harry Kane at 72.5¢ which is a total of $72.50.
If Kane wins the Ballon d’Or, those shares become worth $100 which nets you $27.50 in addition to your initial $72.50 for a total of $100 returned to you (minus any fees)
If someone else wins, the shares are worth $0 and you lose the $72.50.
Alternatively, if Kane’s odds rise to 85¢ before the result, you can sell early for a profit without waiting for resolution.
Buying “No” on a favorite is betting against them (e.g., No on Kane at ~27.5¢ pays $1 if he does not win). In this case, if you bet $100 Harry Kane doesn't win, you would make a profit of $264.
