Once, in high school, I found out a book by a local author was banned in our school district. So I went out and bought it.
After I read it, I made all my friends read it too.
A few weeks later, as a friend was handing my copy back to me, a teacher came up and asked, “what is that book? I’ve noticed you and your friends reading it.”
I said “oh, the school district banned it so we’re reading it to find out why.”
She smiled, “that seems like a very good reason to read a book.”…
