Starlink saves lives
Starlink helped save FIVE lives in the Atlantic. ♥️
Their boat, Karolina Viking, was filling with water. Its power systems were failing. Rescuers couldn’t reach them by radio or satellite phone.
The sailors shared their location with rescuers through Starlink, helping another yacht find them.
All five were rescued from their liferaft and brought safely aboard.
Starlink helped turn a desperate situation into five lives saved. This is what a lifeline from space looks like.

This past Friday, after I had an engagement (the engagement was staged in the East Rand), I drove home to visit family, and I was beyond shocked.
I can't stress this enough: GO VOTE on Wednesday.
Our homes & the spaces we grew up in have been left to rot and ruin.
Every street pole has multiple electioneering posters, but the parks are filthy or dilapidated; the roads are a smorgasbord of potholes; and what used to be open land where we played as kids is now littered with unsafe temporary structures.
Where is the urban planning?
Where is bylaw enforcement?

Sitting without power just before I'm about to cast my vote this week reminds me just how crucial having a competent local government is. I'm not alone, in fact millions of people in this country endure far worse for far longer at the hands of wicked, self-serving cretins at every level of government.
These people must be held accountable - at the ballot box and in their own lives.

The Springboks are ranked the number one Rugby team in the world. It has the best of South Africa in the team. It is a diverse team that includes players, coaching, management and support teams made up of exceptional individuals from all races and backgrounds.
DON’T fuck this is up with race obsessed politics while SA so badly needs some differentiation as a winning nation.
The world knows SA for its high crime, unemployment, bad global friends and corrupt government.
BUT, they also know and respect SA as the number one Rugby team in the world.
Don’t take that away as well.

Even the New York Post recognised the sheer barbarity unfolding in South Africa and thought it worthy of international attention.
Meanwhile, our own journalists are too busy sycophantically fawning over foreign dictators and genuflecting before ageing White apartheid-era diplomats who helped negotiate the very political settlement that handed power to the people responsible for this disgrace. The irony is apparently lost on them. Their priorities, however, are glaringly obvious.

White South African tortured and had his ears hacked off during a horrific robbery at his farm as the attackers remain at large.
Cattle farmer Donovan Marx, 50, was alone inside his home after his wife Louise had left for work on Wednesday when two men attacked one of his workers in a barn.
The worker was tied up and the robbers then burst into the main farmhouse and shot Mr Marx before stabbing him in the leg.
As he collapsed in a pool of blood, the two men taunted him, held him down and then cut off his ears before slicing them into small bits!

The "racists" predicted that Johannesburg would lose its water and electricity, its working streetlights and robots, and its drivable roads.
Maybe back then they were not racists but realists: logical, analytical people who were not emotional in their predictions.
Their predictions were accurate because they weren't predicting what felt good. They were predicting what was likely to happen.
When a society treats honest warnings as insults, it loses the chance to fix problems before they become crises.
