Rupert Lowe wants to know why Britain is falling behind because left wing and right wing parties treat disability like a joke.
At disability Enterprise we run multi step programs such as AI to ensure we're a step ahead of even our own government.
No loans, no grants available to us under the conservative or labour governments since launch.
Although I'm a Mancunian even Mr Burnham wholely ignoreed me for local funding when he was Mayor.
Your disability aids are expensive - The DWP can count borrowed money as capital while refusing to deduct the debt behind it.
£3,000 borrowed isn't £3,000 saved.
Debt isn't wealth. It's a liability.
Why does Britain's benefits system struggle with that distinction?

Its not true! Benefits is a poverty trap for many disabled people! I am legally blind - Imagine telling an employer that who then asks "can you actually use a computer"

When British perceptions of disabled people change maybe they will offer people with disabilities jobs!
I've wanted to post this for a while as an example of what is happening in the Country. I believe in the welfare state, I want a system that catches people & supports them when they need it when unemployment strikes. I want disabled people to live with dignity. However something has gone wrong a perfect storm almost. My sister has a friend she's my age & hasn't worked for many years after she had a car accident because she was drink driving harmed herself & another car. Since she claims everything, disability, PIP, housing benefit & motability car. She can work but the problem is no job can give her the equivalent life she has now, a new 2 bed council house, a SUV vehicle new every 3 years apparently she has that car because she has a support dog for anxiety. She has aesthetic treatments done at my sisters aesthetics business & her life is far more secure & stable than mine. She has more disposable cash than me, a better car & a safe home for life. I work 2 jobs and I work in a profession that I was educated for 10 years. I am 2 rent rises away before I have to leave my private rented 2 bed terrace. And my situation leaves me poorer, and less secure than a woman claiming benefits. I hate having to say this but it is true & this situation is everywhere. Benefits can give you a much better & secure life than working. And that isnt right.
We don't protect the identity of criminals but the media has and will!

PIP can, and should, be reformed in order to both make savings and better honour its original purpose.

Universal Credit doesn't know the price of a pint of milk. Or a weekly food shop. Or a heating bill.
Leaving millions without enough to survive and forced to turn to food banks.
🫸 The UK gov has the chance to change this. We're calling for Universal Credit to be set based on actual living costs.

They lock us out of accessing seats that we are supposed to be able to.
Unless we’re willing to
•Pay a fee
•Have a non medic view our personal information
•Be reassessed each 3 years/each year
We've gone from hiding #disabled people away to literally hiding the accessible seats from disabled people. And @nimbusdis and @yorkbarbican are calling this progress and fair!? #disabilitydiscrimination
