Doechii nods to her 2024 “CATFISH” Swamp Sessions in new “CATWOMAN”track.
She kills her ABNH alter ego, then raps on top of the blood and guts Tarantino-style.
Same Busta Rhymes “WOO HAH!!” interpolation in both songs too!!

Dissect podcast (@dissectpodcast) has launched a new series on hip-hop features. And what’s the best way to start the series with none other than J. Cole himself? ! There’s also a line-by-line breakdown of his infamous feature on “Johnny P’s Caddy”

Dissect is returning Tuesday, starting with a trio of episodes dedicated to The Art of The Feature.
First up: J. Cole
The more I think about You Can See Everything, the more I understand it to be a documentary about Nathan Fielder’s failed attempt at making a traditional documentary. The reasons why he failed are what make it so interesting/philosophical. 10/10.

I’ve attempted to address this issue with my interview approach.
I don’t ask a SINGLE question that’s not generated from or specifically about their album/music.
We also talk through the ENTIRE album track by track.
A music show about the music! Wild I know.
Vince Staples explains why he avoided traditional press for Cry Baby:
“I make music… and none of those things are ever about music.”
Vince says many interviewers don’t even listen to the music beforehand, so he doesn’t see much value in repeating himself outside of the art:
“I get The Breakfast Club… and you sit down and you eat hot wings.”

Running this @rapsody back after listening to the @dissectpodcast episode. Hearing her break down all the gems makes it sound even better. And I gotta give Cole props for knowing how to conduct an interview and actually putting in time to study the artist and work. 🫶🏾
