🚨NEW ST MIRREN PLATFORM🚨
I am delighted to announce the launch of The St Mirren Mercury, a Substack providing dedicated coverage of the Buddies.
The site is live now with an exclusive interview with Keith Lasley online.

A point gained on an off-night for St Mirren, Craig McLeish with no complaints.
Credit for Paul Nsio and the impact of subs, but a worry that it sounds like Ismeal Kabia will be missing at least until the Celtic match after the international break.

St Mirren 1 Hibernian 1: A point gained for Buddies on a night to forget for everyone involved.
A terrible game of football, capped by two awful goals.
Few positives, but a strong impact off the bench for St Mirren.

Craig McLeish confirmed a calf issue for Ismeal Kabia in his interview with BBC Scotland pre-match.
🗣️"Ismeal Kabia has picked something up with his calf. We got it scanned and it showed up something a little bit worse than we all thought. We need a bit of time to assess that."
Just one change for Craig McLeish from the win over Dundee; Chris Mochrie straight swap for Ismeal Kabia.
On-loan Arsenal winger drops out of the squad completely, had been withdrawn at the weekend but was thought to be 'fine'.
Paul Nsio returns to the squad after a virus.
🆕 Your St Mirren starting lineup for tonight's William Hill Premiership match at home to Hibernian.

ALT St Mirren: Chapman, John, Carr, Sule, Gogic, Thomas, Fraser (c), Mochrie, Ramsay, Fieldson, Phillips Subs: Tamosevicius, Richardson, Jackson, Donnelly, McEvoy, Nsio, Taylor, Ramos, Young
🗣️ “I have to be pragmatic. I’m here to win games; I’m here to put points on the board."
Craig McLeish calls out false narrative but names the one thing his St Mirren side will never do.
Targeting a big week with a possible nine points in seven days.

💬"If someone wants to pick on one of ours, they’re going to pick on every one of us."
Luke Thomas insists full-time rammy after win over Dundee proves St Mirren are up for the fight.

Jonah Ayunga is set for a 'tidy-up' operation on his knee later this week.
The St Mirren striker has been out since April due to an ACL injury. Expected back in the New Year.

St Mirren 2 Dundee 1: Buddies blow away stormy conditions to end losing run.
Eseosa Sule & Calvin Ramsay on target in a hugely improved performance and much-needed result.
Awful run ended, belief restored, up to sixth.

Looks like a shift to a back five, unless Alex Gogic is moved into the midfield.
Henry Fieldson comes in for Paul Nsio, with the Rangers loanee a surprise absentee from the matchday squad.

ALT St Mirren: Chapman, John, Carr, Sule, Gogic, Thomas, Kabia, Fraser (c), Ramsay, Fieldson, Phillips Subs: Tamosevicius, Richardson, Jackson, Donnelly, McEvoy, Taylor, Ramos, Mochrie, Young
💬"This is my time to show the manager what I can do so he can trust me and show I can lead the team.”
Eseosa Sule is desperate to deliver for St Mirren in the absence of Nikolas Agrafiotis.
Important to remember he's 20, with few pro outings to date.
🔗stmirrenmercury.substack.com…
💬“That’s not visible to anyone but as long as I feel I am getting the support I need, it doesn’t need to be."
Craig McLeish responds to Steven Pressley's advice to seek a 'mentor'.
Buddies boss played alongside and then under Pressley at Falkirk.
🔗stmirrenmercury.substack.com…
Willie Collum confirms St Mirren should have "without question" been awarded a penalty at 0-0 vs Rangers.
Full VAR audio released, including verdict at the time that “attacker [Ismeal Kabia] plays the ball and then he runs into the defender."

💬 “We can't be the team that are nice to play against and play good football.”
Craig McLeish on loss to Aberdeen, where St Mirren ‘beat themselves’. Admits penalty record cannot continue, nor can shipping early and cheap goals.
🔗 stmirrenmercury.substack.com…
Aberdeen 3 St Mirren 1: Eseosa Sule opens league account, but same old issues plague Buddies in fifth straight loss.
That's now EIGHT penalties conceded this season. And another afternoon with an early lead gifted away, this time in both halves.
🔗stmirrenmercury.substack.com…
First league goal for Eseosa Sule. A real confidence booster for him.
Luke Thomas has looked very bright on right flank.
Poor defending for (brilliant) Brad Lyon’s opener but much improved from St Mirren overall in first 45 minutes at Pittodrie.
Marcus Fraser, Luke Thomas and Eseosa Sule in for St Mirren; Fraser Taylor, Chris Mochrie & Henry Fieldson drop to bench.
Fraser and Alex Gogic as CB partnership, a first start for Thomas, and opportunity for Sule in absence of Agrafiotis.
Spent some time considering how St Mirren will navigate the next period without their clear first-choice striker.
Craig McLeish's hand has been forced, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
Niko will be key, but clarity in the short-term is crucial.

St Mirren have been dealt an injury hammer blow, with Nikolas Agrafiotis suffering a "severe" calf tear.
Set to be sidelined for weeks, with no scope to turn to the free agent market. A major concern over one of the key recruits in the summer.

Hearts 5 St Mirren 0: Mistake after mistake as Buddies battered at Tynecastle.
Cheap goals, two penalties conceded, no shots on target until the 77th minute. A dreadful afternoon.
When is the next international break?
