from 19th October (Monday) night: GTM in cybersecurity:
So, a group of us convened to talk about the abundance of security solutions, the lack of definitiveness around what the AI-market wants, sales motions, new age messaging, and calculated engineering spends around building cyber solutions.
the humour and lightness in the conversation was hard not to ignore because these were just a fun bunch of boys genuinely fascinated by how the market works and a lot of fun stories to back them up with!!
thank you so much @sfcommons for letting us use the space for this beautiful evening :)

I've become such a huge huge proponent of the fact that when you want (yearn) something with all your heart- the world conspires to bring it up to you. It is in voicing it out enough, talking about it, posting about it and wanting it despite any evidence against getting it.
when @majamediaco talked about it at first, I didn't buy it. guess now I'm a part of yearners club - it's so joyful!
Ps- a book on personal computing I've been wanting to read for a year now. Found it in CHM yesterday 🥰🥰🥰
i think what's also changing about the culture of reading books is that our brains are attuned to believe that the result of a strenuous activity, such as reading a chonky book, should be very apparent right away, but in reality the value of reading shows after hours and hours of mulling over the same boring subject. The names overlap, the lessons are learnt again and again (possibly over many many books) - and eventually you find encounters with certain subjects that feel cathartic. it becomes less about the apparant value of reading and more about the joy.
do we even approach the reading activity with the same innocence and joy? no. but, this is the joy that compounds to give us pronounced gut feelings.
trust my words, this particular story of mosaic (browser) going down in history along with with going out of market has a great place in humbling one’s life. It makes you dream better and bigger without having to carry the weight of it.
there's something about being in the midst of a 2000 year old computer history and all of the knowledge condensing it.

the question, 'how many times have you restarted your life?' has had more of an impact on me than all the rejections, failure and then challenges that i've had to go through combined.
and im not sure what it's telling me lol
I cannot believe im in the same place that used to have evening sun at 9p but now ive to put up with pitch darkness at 7p wdymmm
well, I think we made cybersecurity so much lighter (more updates coming!!!)
Hi sf, sooo I'm finally hosting my own event: GTM in cybersecurity :)
If you're building, selling, or marketing in cyber or cyber-adjacent tech, swap what's working in growth and go-to-market and come hang!!!
You're super, super welcome, even if you're just curious. See you this Monday :)
now is the time to bump this up and let your gtm friends know about it as w.
having generative conversations with strangers is one thing, but going on pure slop with someone you absolutely vibe with and hitting enigmatic realisations is something else.
Especially with difficult decisions- they seem significantly lighter when brainstormed with someone who's been through the same things as you :)
really really gotta bring back the newsletter and editorial days. as easy as the Pre event and post event promotions are becoming, there's less and less craft involved in the effort itself. Automation is necessary yes, but so is authenticity, innovation and experimentation. We gotta have cover events these days :)))
(not just with photos)
homebrew computer club, the home to Apple computer and 23 other innovators that shaped the personal computer history started because Fred Moore thought scribbling in a flyer and sticking it in school and university walls was the best way to bring hobbyists together.
and im reading the scribble on the flyer verbatim here .. chills, literal chills :)
soooo crazy how great things start insignificantly small and work their way up
