Places like Center Parcs are wild You walk around and think: “hmm, quite nice to have amenities” …then you realise Britain has made visiting a miniature place with functional civic infrastructure a holiday destination We pay to live like a Danish person for a week, basically

Dear farm friends, we have some sad news to report. At the weekend, 8 of our most rare breed chickens including Silkies, Bantams and Ayam Cemani were stolen.

Love over hate. Unity over division. Kindness over intimidation. Racism has no place in our North East. This is the message sent to rioters and thugs and the violent far right from Newcastle tonight. That’s our North East. That’s why I am so proud.❤️ chroniclelive.co.uk/news/nor…

Like many people, I spent a fair chunk of today worrying about what might happen tonight. Nervous for our communities, for friends and colleagues reporting on the streets. What a joy that this is what we’ve seen here. This is the North East. Love, unity, pride. Absolutely lush.

I’m appalled by scenes from Sunderland. Make no mistake, if your response to tragedy is to use it to commit violence, to abuse others, attack the Police and damage property you stand for nothing except thuggery. It’s not protest. It’s crime and disorder. You don’t speak for Sunderland. You don’t speak for this region. Those grieving in Southport will take no comfort from this.
