It's a good conversation.
I hope Lex heard and listened Zelensky on topic of Putin and who he is. Because over and over Lex is hopeful (naive) of Putin's nature. And it's always painful to hear such hopes from a very intelligent person.

Here's my conversation with Volodymyr Zelenskyy (@ZelenskyyUa) on YouTube:

Yuval Noah Harari, as always, makes sense of the senseless and unthinkable... Tough questions, tough dilemmas that Israel is facing now...
However... at the end of the episode, one of the interviewers suggested a documentary 👇

"Peace is tough" is one of the slogans in one of the episodes of this documentary. And it's indeed. This toughness is all over the world. And some people argue that world is collapsing...

Imagine in 2005 ISIS took over Cuba, killing thousands of Cubans. In response to ISIS attacks and repeated threats on Americans, US imposed a blockade on Cuba to protect itself. In the 18 years since, ISIS repeatedly fires rockets at the US.
Now let's skip to 2023

About blocking feature, engineering explanation...
- Why do we spend so much money on this cluster?
- You know, Elon, 40% of it takes to filter out blocked accounts...
... A few moments later: we are going to remove an ability to block!
Finished podcast with Todd Howard youtube.com/watch?v=H9AAnV59…. Inadvertently, I compare it to John Carmack's episode youtube.com/watch?v=I845O57Z….
And I think, those are basically designer vs engineer podcasts. When I was little, I played games and I wanted to create games (ofc) ...
Finally, I finished this blog post about MySQL, BLOB and compression to make it faster!

The cover for this blog post is silly, but it was made by DALL-E. I spent a long time trying to get anything from it for my previous blog posts. This time I wanted to mix a manometer (compression) and a dolphin (logo of MySQL). The result is underwhelming, but at least something.
Finalizing my findings about Base64 performance. This time I compare performance between JDK implementation and Rust implementation via JNI (guess who wins!)
Actually, this post is more about JNI than about Base64.
