Making my way through @hubermanlab podcasts and in e12 he says "prolactin sets the refractory period on the male's ability to mate again". My understanding is that this hypothesis isn't widely accepted anymore. What's the latest? open.spotify.com/episode/6r6…

Why is it when in my Python code, I lower a number by 10%, then increase it by 10%, I get a smaller number? I think I did the math right.... Is Python bugged???
Just learned from @hubermanlab that shivering in an ice bath is good for building brown fat and losing other fat, while avoiding shivering is good for adjusting sleep and stress tolerance training. Pretty cool! open.spotify.com/episode/3eV…

"in order to use a model for something useful, we need to understand how it works" --> no, we don't. we use humans (and birds, and dogs...) without knowing how they work.
understanding how models work is very interesting and very important. but we can certainly use them without.
AGI/superintelligent machines is an interesting and useful topic to discuss. But there is much, much more to AI ethics and responsible AI in the way that it's used RIGHT NOW. As a society, we absolutely need to address difficult questions of ethics in the current state of AI
