The greatest leaders I’ve been around were all able to say…”I don’t know the answer, but I’ll figure it out”. Too many leaders have to be the “smartest” in the room at all times, and that’s just not always the case….humility wins. Always.

"We're such an instant gratification era ... We're trying to skip the step of adversity and growth ... but we're gonna have to face it.
Sometimes the grass isn't greener on the other side. Sometimes you're just trading one set of problems for another."

Curt Cignetti shares a universal truth about habits and consequences.
"In life - you got freedom of choice, but not freedom of consequence."
"First you form your habits, then your habits form you."
Every choice and action you take compounds. The small decisions you make daily - preparation, work ethic, and how you respond - those become your habits.
And over time, those habits become your identity.
You're free to choose. But the consequences of those choices aren't optional.
Your habits are shaping who you become.

One of my favorite quotes is the one from Marcus Aurelius: ‘The happiness of your life depends upon the quality of your thoughts.’
I think it’s always good to remember it.

Great leaders don’t just give feedback, they invite it.
Sean McVay discusses why it's important to surround yourself with "truth-tellers" and how he fosters psychological safety for those he leads.
“It doesn’t mean you’re always saying nice things. It means you love and care about them enough to tell them what they need to hear, not what they want to hear.”
Psychological safety isn’t avoiding hard truths, but rather creating a space where people can handle them.

Anxiety happens when you think you have to figure everything out all at once. Makes you feel out of control. Prioritize, create a plan, and attack each, one by one….and breathe. You’re good…..🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

This is one of my favorite speeches of all time…
It always hits me hard:
“You get up every day—you’re entitled to nothing. Nobody owes you nothing. You could have talent, but if you don’t have discipline, and you don’t execute, you don’t focus… What do you get? Nothing. If you’re complacent and not paying attention to detail… What does that get you? Nothing. So nothing is acceptable but your best.”
This is a harsh reality of life:
Talent is meaningless without discipline.
Ambition is worthless without execution.
Focus is the difference between potential and reality.
You’re not entitled to success—it’s earned in the quiet, thankless moments when no one is watching.
The antidote to entitlement is relentless ownership.
Show up fully. Pay attention to the details. Do your best—every single day.
Because in a world where everyone wants the reward, it’s those who refuse to accept anything less than their best who build something worth being proud of.

Tom Coughlin said, "You never want an opponent to see you in anything, but strength."
"You don't want bad language. You don't want that as a stamp of who you are."
Your body language speaks before you do.
Your presence, your tone, your energy - everything speaks.

At some point the NCAA needs to drop the “student first, athlete second” charade.
Billions of dollars, NIL, transfer portal (free agency), traveling cross-country for midweek games…
Education is not the main focus.
Admit it and call it what it is.
A business.
Run it as such.

Hey coach - - Your influence as a coach isn’t measured by championships, it’s measured by who your players become when the game is over.
Are they better leaders? Better teammates? Better people? That’s your real scoreboard. Start and finish there.

And unfortunately the Fourth Estate (the press) has by and large lost all moral clarity for the sake of book deals, personal enrichment, and proximity to power. It’s profitable to play to our emotions and keep folks divided. Remember…folks are getting rich off this nonsense
