Plastic to Purpose – 100-Day School Action Challenge!
The initiative has begun in schools across Anugola District to promote plastic-smart campuses and responsible waste management.
Through student-led activities, the campaign encourages reducing single-use plastics,
waste segregation, reuse, and innovation to build a cleaner, greener future. 🌱

Plastic to Purpose: A 100-Day School Action Challenge
Angul District Administration, with DMF Angul and the District Education Department, has launched a 100-day campaign across 162 private schools to cut plastic waste.
Inaugurated by Mr. Abhi Jain, Probationary IAS, Angul,
segregation, recycling, reuse, cleanliness drives and awareness activities, building habits that reach homes and communities. Government schools will follow in the next phase.

A collective movement towards Plastic-Free Schools in Angola!
The District Administration, Anugola in collaboration with DMF Anugola is launching the “Plastic to Purpose – 100 Days School Action Challenge” on 9th October 2026 at Black Diamond Hall, Anugola.

The DMF team with PRADAN team visited the APC project areas of Angul Sadar Block.
During the visit, the team interacted with Producer Group (PG) members and women farmers and visited different agricultural fields, including grafted tomato and brinjal, trellis cultivation,
the Kheyti Model, drip irrigation and mulching, and banana cultivation. Team discussed crop production and farming practices with the farmers.
The team also discussed marketing opportunities with the FPC and the use of Natural Pest Management (NPM).
PG members shared their journey since the formation of their Producer Groups, their experiences, challenges, and immediate needs for improving their income and livelihoods.
The team also reviewed the PGs' books of records and discussed their progress and functioning.

Millet Workshop cum Millet Food Festival was organised by Chief District Agriculture Office on 22nd September 2026 at Odisha Forest Ranger College, Anugola in the presence of CDAO-cum-PD, ATMA, Anugola , Senior Deputy Conservator of Forest, Anugola , Principal , Professors and
Students from Govt. Autonomous College, Anugola ,Dept of DSW , Anugola , Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Anugola and other dignitaries.
Sessions covered millet varieties, nutrition & climate resilience under ShreeAnnaAbhiyan. Students got hands-on exposure plus
participation certificates.
Millet Food Festival wasinaugurated with Sua Chhena Poda cake cutting and other Millet delicacies served like Suan Kheer, Mandia Ladoo, Mandia Momos & more.
