The 2026 #NobelPrize laureates in physiology or medicine have laid the foundation of a new era in neuroscience. Using optogenetics, researchers have been able to reveal neural circuits governing specific memories, feelings, and behaviours relevant for neurological and psychiatric disorders. In clinical medicine, researchers are using the method in attempts to restore sight in people with visual impairment. Optogenetics has fundamentally altered our understanding of the brain. Every day brings new discoveries, helping to solve one of humanity’s great mysteries: how our incredible brain works.

It was so unlikely you felt the need to threaten Tristan and ask him to take Levent off the paper?

>math professor spends a year on one of the hardest unsolved problems in math >"Navier-Stokes" >his drafts for the whole project went through codex sessions >openai had his logs in codex >suddenly rumor leaks AI solved it >he emails openai to ask what's going on >openai calls within days >"funny story, our model also solved it" >using his exact approach >asks openai: did you train on my sessions? >no answer
If I am reading this correctly, Tristan Buckmaster is alleging OAI has a resolution of Navier-Stokes(via Córdoba and Martínez-Zoroa’s program) which maybe used info from Buckmaster and Levent Alpöge’s private Codex sessions What the fuck is happening!!!

Academia is where people spend 20 years becoming experts so they can eventually be managed by people who aren’t.

“Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that, in glory and triumph, they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner, how frequent their misunderstandings, how eager they are to kill one another, how fervent their hatreds.” — Carl Sagan

The trick to research is to get distracted by the first interesting article you see in the footnotes and continue this until your life completely unravels
