The decline in physical examination skills is not just a nostalgic loss; it has practical implications. Studies have shown that many diagnoses can be made or significantly narrowed down through a thorough physical exam. The over-reliance on technology can lead to unnecessary tests, increased healthcare costs, and, potentially, a delay in treatment... 👇👇👇 howardluksmd.com/high-tech-a…

Every Christmas Eve local school children come to Holten and Groesbeek Canadian Military Cemeteries in the Netherlands to light a candle in honour of each soldier laid to rest. The act is both humbling and beautiful and serves as reminder to be grateful for the peace we enjoy.

I experienced my first valedictory ceremony yesterday, representing @UHWCriticalCare after one of the longest serving judges, David Wynn Morgan hung up his wig after decades of service. It was like nothing I had ever experienced - hundred of people, packed into a beautiful court room, from Supreme Court Judges, to barristers, members of his family and the people who did CPR and helped save his life back in 2017 after a cardiac arrest in the middle of court. The speeches were funny, emotional and amazingly well delivered. A genuine highlight of my year, one hell of a send off - something other industries should learn from. That is how to value your people. Thank you Judge David Wynn Morgan for the invite, for your service and for sharing your story with the world in my book Critical. Now is a great time to learn CPR to help save a life for Christmas. #valedictory #CPR
