Nou pa gen okenn enterè ni pou nou vin domine pèp ayisyen an, ni pou nou mete men sou richès Ayiti. Nou se yon peyi modès k ap devlope. Sèl sa nou vle, se pou kat teknisyen avyasyon nou yo tounen lakay yo. Epi n ap bay gang yo yon leson, gang sa yo k ap fè pèp ayisyen an soufri, ki touye moun pèp la renmen yo, k ap anpeche l viv yon lavi nòmal, lib, san laperèz. Nou vin ann Ayiti pou nou goumen kont mechan yo. Men sa m ap mande nou: fè nou konfyans, lapriyè sèl vrè Bondye a, epi mande L pou L geri Ayiti. “Lè sa a si pèp ki pote non m lan lapriyè nan pye m, si yo soumèt devan mwen, si yo pran chache m ankò, si yo vire do bay vye peche yo t'ap fè yo, m'ap tande yo nan syèl kote m ye a, m'ap padonnen peche yo, m'ap fè peyi a kanpe ankò.” 2 Kwonik 7:14 Ede nou ede Ayiti. Epi lè misyon nou an fini, n ap tounen lakay nou. Petèt jenerasyon Ayisyen k ap vini yo ap sonje nou kòm zanmi ki te vin ede yon lè.

Most horrible marathon finish for me, ever. I hit the wall at 19 miles and it was a struggle from there. My feet hurt, my legs hurt and I didn't do a good job with hydration. I finished, and it was a learning lesson. Starting with shoes!

In Remembrance of Beirut #OTD in 1983, a terrorist bombing at the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, claimed the lives of 241 U.S. service members, including 220 Marines, serving as part of the Multinational Force in Lebanon. On October 23, a suicide bomber drove a truck laden with explosives into the barracks where U.S. Marines were stationed on a peacekeeping mission. The attack devastated the building and became one of the deadliest days in Marine Corps History. The Marines in Beirut were deployed to help restore peace and stability amid escalating violence in Lebanon. Despite the dangers they faced, they carried out their mission with courage, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to one another. The Beirut bombing left a lasting mark on the #MarineCorps and the nation. We remember the lost lives, honor the wounded and survivors, and recognize the families and loved ones who continue to carry the weight of that day. Their sacrifice remains woven into the legacy of every #Marine who has answered the call to serve. Today, we pause to remember the 241 American service members who never made it home and honor their courage, sacrifice, and devotion to duty. They came in peace. They will never be forgotten. Semper Fidelis #BeirutBombing #NeverForgotten #SemperFi #RememberTheFallen

On this date I always remember Lance Corporal John Blocker, he was my boot camp bunk mate at Parris Island. RIP warrior.
October 23, 1983. A date forever etched in the hearts of United States Marines. Forty-three years ago, a terrorist drove a truck loaded with explosives into the Marine barracks in Beirut, Lebanon, killing 241 American service members, including 220 Marines, 18 sailors, and 3 soldiers. They were sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, and friends. Young Americans who had answered their country’s call, never knowing they would never see home again. For those of us who have worn the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, Beirut is not just another tragic event in American history. Those were our brothers. We may never have met them, but we share a bond that neither time nor death can break. Forty-three years have passed. Families have grown older, children have grown up without their fathers, and parents have gone to their graves still mourning their sons. But I promise you one thing. The United States Marine Corps has not forgotten them, and we never will. Rest peacefully, brothers. Your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Semper Fidelis. Always Faithful.

🚨WATCH: Fairfax County Executive Bryan Hill was stopped by a police officer and pulled the “don’t you know who I am” card. I obtained the police body worn camera video and emails related to the stop in a FOIA. On Friday, Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis came to the officer’s defense in an email to the Deputy County Executive:   “Per our conversation, please see the below link to the traffic stop this afternoon involving County Executive Bryan Hill. County Executive Hill called me during and after the traffic stop and relayed the following:   “There’s a lot going on, but if this is what you guys want to do…” “My front tag is on my dashboard…” “I don’t mind him doing his job, but he was disrespectful. That’s my issue.” “He had no idea who I was…” “If I had a badge, he would’ve let me go.”   As you watch the BWC, you will hear the County Executive say the following to our officer:   “Did you hear who I told you I am?”   I told the County Executive that the requirement to have a front license plate affixed to the front of a car is a Commonwealth statute, and not a Fairfax County rule. I also told him his allegation the officer was “disrespectful” is something I will review immediately and take seriously.   I have reviewed the BWC in its entirety. The young officer was 100% professional, cordial, and polite at all times. There will be no internal action taken against the officer whatsoever.   I called the officer on his cell afterwards and told he performed in an exemplary manner consistent with our expectations and training. In short, he did a great job under a tough circumstance that was not created by him.”   Deputy County Executive Thomas Arnold replied, “My apologies for the behaviors of the County Executive. I will review this tonight and then have a follow-up with him and discuss an apology for both you and the officer. Circle back with you soon.”
