Some moments have a way of bringing a smile to everyoneโs face.
It is heartening to see RPSGian Abhishek Mukherjee from @CESCLimited and his family capturing the joy of Pujo so naturally and winning hearts along the way.
No matter how powerful evil may be,
in the end, victory belongs to truth and righteousness.
Dussehra reminds us that the end of evil is certain and the triumph of good is inevitable.

Mr. Vikas Khemani on how to evaluate management quality:
"In 1994, Infosys, Mastek and Kale Consultants had similar sales of around โน100 crore, but Infosys was able to execute its vision and scale significantly."
"So, Management quality comes first. Companies may operate in the same sector with similar business models, but superior management ultimately prevails."
"Look for entrepreneurs with hunger and a long-term vision. Businesses led by promoters who lack ambition or focus only on short-term gains are unlikely to create significant wealth. Avoid promoters with questionable integrity."
"Also, Competence, Integrity and Drive are extremely important when evaluating management. You may still make mistakes, but focusing on on above improves the odds of finding quality businesses."

I just sat in quite an unbelievable meeting with the President of India.
We presented our memorandum to her outlining PM Modi and HM Amit Shahโs gross subversion of Indiaโs electoral system and seeking CEC Gyanesh Kumarโs resignation. I was shocked that the President did not deny Vote Chori.
Instead, she asked us to bring her proof. We will bring her a mountain of it. The INDIA bloc will gladly submit every piece of evidence before her.
We welcome her assurance that she will examine the matter and take action.

A wonderful message from my mentor this morning, worth sharing.
โIf your decision to invest in Indian markets depends on where crude oil or bond yields are heading tomorrow, perhaps equity investing is not for you.
Focus on the right direction, the right businesses and the right management. Be willing to do what others cannot โ not because you are more intelligent, but because you have or should have greater patience and emotional strength.
Why do only 1% of investors create serious wealth? Because they are willing to grind, live with uncertainty, stay disciplined and resist the temptation to get rich quickly.
**Wealth creation is not a test of intelligence. It is a test of patience, conviction and emotional strength.**โ
Simple message. Difficult to practise. And that is precisely why so few succeed.

Again no need to sensationalise what I say.
Interest rates have started going up. In the near term they look more likely to rise more.
For borrowers, either EMIs or loan tenure will increase.
For many households in India, food still takes a large share of monthly spending. Milk, fruit and vegetables are also part of that.
The average household now spends around 50% of its monthly expense on all food and related items.
Since you shop regularly, you know how prices of essentials have been rising.
Agriculture is under pressure from a weak monsoon and El Nino, and from tighter fertiliser and shipping conditions linked to global conflict.
That is disruption and risk for entire food supply chain.
It is a good time to separate needs from wants.
Needs have to be met. Wants can be postponed for better times.
There are headwinds, both globally and locally. I do not see much that looks clearly positive in the near term.
As I said, for both the economy and the markets, I expect difficult conditions for the next few years.
I would be genuinely happy to be proved wrong.
There is already enough suffering in the world.
More pain is the last thing any of us wants.
