I know whom I have believed; and even when His rod and staff no longer comfort me, I believe.

"whether or not" is redundant. I'm just sayin'.

Most evangelical discussions of worldview seem to me oblivious to the fact that what counts as a worldview isn't a question that can be answered without assuming a worldview -- that one's definition of "worldview" is itself worldview dependent.

Andrea and I were in a horrible head on collision yesterday from which we both walked away. No earthly explanation for our not being dead. God spared us. Soli deo gloria.

Braves! Major League Baseball pulled the all star game from Atlanta this year and the Braves responded with their first World Series this century! Glorious karma. Love it!

Some wrongly accuse Nietzsche of inconsistency because, seeing reason as a mere powerplay, he nonetheless gives reasons for his views. On one hand if you find his reasons persuasive, he's got you; on the other, if you see he's simply making a powerplay himself, he's got you. 2/2

The term "worldview" isn't helpful. Because what counts as a worldview can only be determined within a specific worldview context; in other words, different worldviews have different conceptions of what worldviews are. The term isn't vacuous, but its meaning is far from obvious.

Richard Dawkins wants me to read Skeptical Inquirer so I can learn to think for myself. So I learn to think for myself by letting SI do it for me? No thanks!
