I am so excited to be working with my daughter, @ElleHarris805, on a new book called Just a Girl in the World! Here is a sneak peek. This book will take children on a journey through history and across cultures to explore what it is like to be a girl in our world. It will feature women who have fought for equality in sports like @LakeyPeterson and @alexmorgan13!

A team in Costa Rica invited me to play a game with them while we are living here for the summer. Soccer is more than a sport - it's a way for us to connect across the world! #girlsinsports Music by @dirtyheads!

I am so excited with how the artwork is turning out for this new book!
Here is another sneak peek of the beautiful artwork from my upcoming book Just a Girl in the World! This image features a #Chumash girl who was living in the year 1,500. She tells us about how she learned to prepare food, make baskets and jewelry, and take care of children as the boys learned how to fish and hunt. The extremely talented local illustrator of this book, Kieran, did such an amazing job on the plants and flowers that are found on the Central Coast of California. I am so grateful to her for working to bring this important story to life!

So cool!
We are southwest league champions for @gaaspire and will be going to national finals in June! I’m so grateful to be on this team with @SantaBarbara_SC and for a coach, Willie Sims, who has worked so hard to develop us as individual athletes and as a team. Props to my fellow defenders for holding our opponents to only 14 goals in the season and to my attacking teammates for scoring 56 goals, for a goal differential of 42!!! #soccer #womeninsports

Girls who play sports have higher levels of self-esteem, better physical and mental health, and stronger academic performance. 80% of female executives from Fortune 500 companies report that they played sports. @LagunaBlancaSB #girlsinsports

Some people believe 'Treat others the way you want to be treated,' which is great, but sometimes what you like isn’t what someone else likes… or needs! That's where the Platinum Rule comes in: “Treat others the way they want to be treated!” 😊

Skepticism isn’t negativity, cynicism, or denial. It’s simply proportioning our beliefs to the evidence. We’re all trying to figure things out… so have empathy for those who are misled and “temper our criticism with kindness.” #CarlSagan #Sagan

...and we might learn something new if we were to get out of our echo-chamber and potentially even be humble enough to adjust our own views and beliefs. This is powerful.

The reduction of child mortality is one of the big achievements of our time. But it is hard to celebrate something that is *not* happening. So, for my new article, I turned things around. 👇This is the main chart and takeaway. Here is the article: ourworldindata.org/children-…
