The reason why people use substances is trauma is the underlying to help manage their emotional pain. Until we start talking about trauma and how to overcome it we will continue to see addictions sky rocket. Addiction is emotional pain management. Emotional pain is mental health.

The Canadian Mental Health system has been completely been run over. There aren’t enough places for people to get help with Mental illness. Seeking professional help costs too much. Insurance only covers a couple of sessions of therapy. Need to revamp the whole system.
